Removing a shader

I need to relearn the sniper rifle, and odd as it sounds... it really will help me if I get rid of the red beam altogether. This isn't some kinda hack, I'm actually at a loss because I wouldn't notice someone firing at me, and would have no idea where they're shooting from.

It would definately help improve my accuracy.

How would I go about removing this? I tried replacing the shader in a package and resaving it but it did absoultely nothing.
 
and not having the beam wont help you. just play with it longer, you suck now. you might get better, but if you dont, you still suck at it.
