I generally support the rights of the individual, except where those rights are at the detriment to general society (nationally first, internationally second). I support authority where necessary to uphold the law, while not being fascist (oh hai Trump) about it. I believe kids should be smacked when they're misbehaving, but I don't think they should be beaten. I believe criminals can be rehabilitated, but some of the worst have no chance so should rot in prison.

Are "best practices" are a fixed and static thing in your reality?


The big point Pelosi was making there though was that, despite the efforts to label it "The China Virus", block only flights from China and lay the blame squarely at the feet of that target (also mistakes and things which can and should have been done better), that even if it may have originated there, the virus wasn't "China specific", and Chinatown was no more dangerous than anywhere else.
