When asked about his availability for Game 1 of the 76ers' series with Brooklyn, Joel Embiid answered "I have no idea."

There's the possibility that Embiid is keeping things close to the vest with his answer, but it isn't the most encouraging response to hear two days after GM Elton Brand expressed optimism that he'd be able to play. The All-Star center did not play in either of Philadelphia's final two regular season games. Should Embiid not be able to play in Saturday's Game 1, Ben Simmons, Jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris stand to see an increase in usage, and minutes would open up for Boban Marjanovic.

Paul George (right shoulder) is still considered day-to-day heading into the Thunder's playoff series with Portland.

Billy Donovan did not speculate either way whether or not George will be available for Game 1 of the series, which begins Sunday in Portland. Should the All-Star small forward experience any issues that force him to the sideline, Markieff Morris would likely play more minutes with starters Jerami Grant and Terrance Ferguson set to have more responsibility as well.

NBA Playoff ratings down 18% without LeBron James

Here's the problem. Right now the games are hidden on cable channels (TNT). Cord cutters don't get them. Eventually the games will be on ABC, but they start at 9pm EST and they're always on work nights. I'm not staying up until midnight to see the end of the game.

If ABC really wanted to do something, they'd put the game on Friday night at 8pm, and Sunday at 1pm like a football game, but no, it's 9pm.
