tastes kinda mapley-sweet in a flakey crust, not really buttery (altho there is butter in the crust & filling)

altho there are many variations, some with nuts, raisins, chocolate butter tarts etc

interesting. i made some pecan pie this past thanksgiving and it was p good although i made the stupid mistake of following an alton brown crust recipe instead of just using my reg, and it was super bitter and alcoholic tasting (had bourbon and ground pecans in it). maybe i'll try those out for easter instead of chess pie this year.

I did not care at all for those when I was younger. I haven't had them since.
