[Poll] Wealth Re-distribution?

Easy welfare reform palatable to the taxpayers:

We will give you a welfare check IF:

1. You agree to be temporarily sterilized for the duration of your welfare and 1 year after.
2. You do not get to vote during your for the duration of your welfare and 1 year after.
3. If you commit any crime, your welfare stops. If a felony, you must repay 1/2 of your benefits. If a violent crims, you must repay all of it. Bankruptcy does not clear this debt.




Right now, our taxes are given away for nothing. We do not expect anything of these people.

1. Personally agree but will never get passed. Ever. Probably violates a hell of a lot of laws for that matter.
2. Kinda disagree. Doesn't really accomplish anything practical does it? Beyond that it's their right to vote too yeah?
3. Agree for most crimes but if it's a minor violation like a moving violation I'd probably have to disagree on that.

people will add connotative meanings to everything.... cleanse the palate and the dialog, and know that socialism is the gov't ownership of industry. in terms of wealth redistribution, communism might have been more along the lines of what you're looking for but let's not muddy the water with emotionally charged verbage

What it comes down to is GREED. Americans are so filthy that we think its bad when someone takes a few hundred grand when someone is already making MILLIONS!... It's greed. Be glad that you are helping people in need. Don't worry youll still get that new boat you've been wanting.

I think redistribution is fine.. but I have a problem with Welfare.. that is the extreme of redistribution. We will just end up having more fat fucking whores birthing children for money.

Yeah whats a few hundred grand extra over and above what they're already paying. Hell they're probably hardworking scumbags and deserve getting ass fucked by the IRS.

Sorry but I don't buy it. Fix some of the loop holes and keep the current tax laws OR flat tax it and make it a fair system for everyone. Greed works both ways. You look at rich people and see a nice, easy, fat mark that should be farmed. I just see another person getting raped by the government for more money.

I'm glad you think redistribution is fine. Why don't you start cutting some extra checks if you're so thrilled with the idea. No? Didn't think so.
 
Wealth Redistribution is constantly occuring as long as money is changing hands.

People get rich, people get poor, people stay at the same place but spend money doing it.

A more salient question might be: Are more jobs created by government or the private sector during a recession?

At one point the rich were taxed at 90%. Those were the good old days of the 1950's when America was building the largest middle class in the history of the world.

When you are rich, you do not lose this status because of taxes. Rich means you are pulling down 500k-1m a year. Taxes do not mean you lose your healthcare, cant fill your gas tank, and cant make your mortgage payment.

The rich have to make the investment in America or their richness will lose its value. When they do make this investment, the return for them is usually greatest of all. A 600k tax break doesnt really help you so much if your business is down 20-40% because our middle and lower classes are broke.
 
seriously we are not going back to the taxes of the 1950's or probably even the 1980's.

What cracks me up is the conservative right's emphasis on keeping there "hard earned money", while at the same time claiming to be the only TRUE Christian political party.

Yet look at what it says in the book they supposedly run there country based on.

Seriously. I just don't know what one can do to stop the misuse of funds in our gov. There's so much money being wasted, it's a travesty.

On top of that, corporations get to buy whatever legislation they want at their whim through lobbying.

It's a total rape of the common people, and completely legal.

I'm for it, but not nearly to the level that the democrats want to do it.

I'm more for the Ben and Jerry's model.

The current corporate model if just fucking stupid. CEOs should never make hundreds of times more money than their lowest employees. I don't care how fucking smart and savvy you are, you don't work as hard and aren't worth 400x more than the receptionist. I'd even bet all cushy perks aside, that she works harder than you.
