OT: All your base are belong to us

Hot off the presses:

NASA Scientists Announce Evidence of Ancient Microbial Life on Mars.

The (real) press release can be found here:
http://amesnews.arc.nasa.gov/releases/2001/01_14AR.html

The link to the images in the article is mysteriously broken. I've included the key image below as a public service. It shows the magnetite chains formed by ancient organic life in this 4.4 billion-year-old meteorite.

That's great, Flakk! I actually wrote a paper on the Allen Hills meteorite/Martian microbes debate for a class a couple months ago!

You knew the boys from the flying circus had to get in on this one:

WTF? $2.37 for a drill bit? Hmm... Well I guess with that receipt they have the right to charge as much as they want... after all, all you base are belong to them :invert:

howdy.

I'm yet another one of the people that's been with the thread the whole time, but haven't posted. I'm now coming out of the zig-styled closet.

I was at work in London yesterday, and one of the Radio guys on X-FM said:

"All your choons are belong to us"

This is a massive radio station, and he made the shock announcment at about 2:30pm.

nice.

and another thing, we were up at Cambridge, UK the other week, and we were giving it the large "All you base are belong to us" one, and a bloke that went to uni there came over and said:

"That is not gramatically correct"

i ask you.

nice.
