WEEKLY PU'S - THURSDAY EVENINGS

ggs by all.

i played a pretty poor home d. next time i will unmute mun.

and ban milk.

lol, I should have done - clown home, moons chase, you and mun cap, and me LO. I didn't anticipate how much moons not being able to time clear right and shoot home D or escort rather than flag carrier. He was finishing off all of the flag carriers, but not getting the escort.

Be there or be square.

It be nice to see more of the players who usually don't get picked for PU's get to play more instead of the same one's all the time.

The thing everyone has to agree on first is that the most unrealistic part of tribes is beacon hoping.

I mean everytime I have a tribes dream I bend over to beacon hop and do a super rad handstand and I just end up topping over gawd damnit.

I disagree. The whole point of a PU is to have a competitive game with people who know wtf they are doing. If people can prove they know wtf they're doing in pubs I guarantee they'll start getting picked in PU's. Why pick someone who has played the game for years and is still clueless?

You have a point. I'm clueless. :(

I guess i should have been more clear. There are some who have improved a lot and still rarely, if not, don't get picked.

Honestly I used to never get picked for PU's back in the day. The best way to get picked is to sit, observe, and practice in pubs. once you make actual teamwork attempts and show you can change on a dime in your role then you're more suited to be picked in PU's imo.
(I'm not saying you specifically can't, just a general statement. cough gim)

And yeah, I agree with Thump. I was in same boat as kitteh, and most players who didn't get picked years ago. I wanted to start getting picked for PU's, so I chose to work on learning the positions better (especially home D and LO, because those were the positions nobody wanted to play, or weren't good at.) I got pretty good at Home D, and then I started getting picked for PU's because they knew I could Home D - and the rest of the last picks in observer were too one-dimensional. So I'd usually get picked last, or at least bottom 3 - or not at all. And when I didn't get picked, I watched and learned.

That's what motivated me to get better at tribes, and that's why I want to bring PU's back. Would be nice to have some more competition in PUBs.

You're a very capable player R$E. You're a solid chaser, and are capable of playing all the other positions. Whenever I captain a PU, I'm looking to pick players that can play multiple positions well - it makes it much easier assigning positions. One player can bring down an entire team.

Last PU of last thursday is a good example - I didn't give clear directions to a drunk/high Two Moons and he didn't know what the fuck he was doing on LO - We switched mid-map, but by then it was too late. If we'd have had someone that knew how to LO clearing for mun and clown - we'd have either won, or at least made it a closer game.

I want to do a better job of involving capable players in OBS, but I'm not going to forfeit a potential GG just to give gimli some playing time in a PU unless he's a last resort.

If you're in Tier 1 or maybe even a few in tier 2 - you can expect some playing time in PU's. But the entire point of having PU's is so that we can actually have some even, competitive games of tribes 1 night a week!

BTW - if you all hadn't already figured out, I am long-winded. I am a writer, so it is natural for me to write a lot LOL
