The Official Subject Matter Experts of TribalWar.com

To be declared an expert, you should PROBABLY know the subject you are supposedly an expert on. outside of this thread, i really dont care.
i don't really either, I just took offense to the fact you called me an idiot when it's customary to act like an idiot around here. Most people do it for fun. Most of us have a serious side where we show true representations of ourselves and the things we feel strongly about. I do not get caught up with the "acting like an idiot" aspect, but even if that's all you saw, it doesn't matter much anyway. Speaking of experts, you really should become an expert about what you believe as a christian and not run to your pastor about every devience of faith you run into. Many "Christians" today enjoy the benefits of the lifestyle and the social group they get as a result of being what they are, but know little about why they do what they do, or even hold any kind of personal discipline, not to mention intellectual fastidiousness about the spiritual issues which we consider important to life. If you don't know what you believe, or are unable to recognize knowledge of the scripture without an argument over hermeneutics, maybe it's time you dusted off your Bible and read it for yourself.

I don't care if I get made an expert or not, but you should care whether you know anything at all about what you're talking about.

I never said I was Christian.

what makes the pastor you know an authority? His license? I spend more time around licensed ministers than is healthy for most people. My church teaches strong doctrine and I've been through the crucible of scriptural knowledge thanks to my suroundings all my life.

What makes you an authority more than he? He graduated from a seminary and has lead two churches, one in Canada, and was invited to lead the local church here in the US.

Because he's in the Army and generally knows his shit whenever somebody has a question about it.

If I were going to ask a question about something in the Army, he's the first person I'd think of addressing it to.

why not?

I've been a cadet than an enlisted person, than a cadet again (well barring me deciding to forgo my contract signing and deploy, I'm still not quite sure, i'm torn on the issue)

I went through an extended basic training (11 weeks, not counting the 10 days spent in reception), in which we tested new programs and procedures that they wanted to implement into the BCT curriculum, some of which were implemented by the time Musashi went through, some were dropped, and some were revised.

I'm pretty well versed on army regulations and operations, both as a byproduct of what I had to know as an enlisted person and what I had to know as a cadet/future officer.

but seriously, all those aside, you'd probably just have to ask me a question about the army, and chances are I know the anwser.

This thread is getting gayer by the moment. Shocking to see Iason mixed up in making a thread suck ass.

I've seen every Family Guy episode at least 5 times each and own all (released) episodes on DVD. I also know some miscellaneous trivia.

For example, Seth MacFarlane, creator of Family Guy, was scheduled to be on American Airlines flight 11 on September 11th, 2001 to return to Los Angeles after speaking at his alma-mater in Rhode Island. Due to a mix-up with his travel agent, he arrived late to the airport and missed the flight.

You know the rest...

(Yes, I know there are probably a lot of other Family Guy experts here, but I'm the first one to post about it.)

i should be on every sports catagory, wtf.

also feel free to put me down on anything under the catagories that'd be fitting for not-nerdy.

Dude, I am so an expert on life extension technology. Can't believe you don't have that. I wouldn't say I am an expert on socialism, more like international relations. But whatever.

I'm not saying I'm more knowledgeable. I'm saying I've spent a good deal of time around people with understanding of the Word. I'm not saying that means more than the piece of paper he has, but it doesn't mean I can't have some measure of understanding. You're taking his hermeneutic stance as the be all to end all when it comes to Christian doctrine. And there are hundreds of ways of interpreting the scripture, and denominations based off of those interpretations.

fuck you icey
