Yeah never seen that here, the holy grail of the holy grail. Aria steakhouse in Vegas had it but i'm drawing the line at $560 for a steak. If they had it that year I won the big tournament I would have gone for it.

When available, Crowd Cow sells a 16-ounce A5 Olive Wagyu rib-eye steak on it’s website for $240, and Heitzeberg says if Olive Wagyu were on a restaurant menu, a 16-ounce rib-eye would cost about the same as a top-grade Wagyu, or about $480. However Olive Wagyu is nearly impossible to source on a consistent basis, so it is not really sold at restaurants, he says.

Heitzeberg says last year about 2,200 head of Olive Wagyu were harvested.
“It’s basically not available anywhere because of it’s limited quantity,” he says. Heitzeberg who is fluent in Japanese, says it took him two years of relationship-building to even be able to import the meat

I am currently waiting for the cow to be dead so I can get into my belly some Fullblood Wagyu Beef Hanger Steak. I have a feeling that when it gets shipped, I will have to cut the tough piece out so I am going to have to watch some videos on this, as the hangers I get have already been trimmed properly.

Yes but from a 4th generation artisan ketchup farm in the foothills of the Andes where the tomatoes are harvested by Peruvian peasants riding llamas.

Then thrown between 2 slabs of Walmart plastic bread with a metric ****ton of disturbingly bright yellow mustard.

Have another guess. I've seen legit A5 Japanese Wagyu (as opposed to Aussie Wagyu that every steakhouse sells here), in 2 other places. Vegas, at $560 for a 9oz., and another restaurant here at around $350. The Vegas one was 4 years ago and at that time they advertised that only 9 restaurants in the world outside Japan had A5 on the menu, seems now they export a lot more of it so I guess the prices have come down. Even so, $200 is a (relative) bargain.

And once you've had A5, your USDA Angus is meh. I had a Tomahawk like that at the Waldorf Astoria in NYC in 2003 and at that time said it was the best steak i'd ever had. It's generally decent and even very good, right up to the point you taste A5.
