shit is going down in massachusetts

39 fires

most stuff I've seen has been fires, only seen a few explosions

there's one house that's just completely gone

Yeah it just took me 2-1/2 hours to get home from Hudson Ma to Hampton Beach Nh because of it. I knew something was up when the 40th emergency vehicle pass me and the sky filled with news helicopters. Crazy

thats only 12 million dollars or more in structural property damage
no big deal

i wonder if they will be able to claim immunity

dafuq is making them bloweded up?

homes are serviced by a high pressure gas line, and the transition to low pressure lines that service homes are governed somehow

columbia gas fucked that up today during an upgrade

usually you see one house blow up that's the end of it

this is at 60+ houses at the moment across 3 towns

no one I've seen or heard from has been able to explain how this happened.. we know why, it's obviously an overpressure in the lines, just not how that overpressure came to be

Over-pressurize main gas line, rupture and blow out the regulator's supplying homes.

Imagine how old those neighborhoods are and when that infrastructure was installed or updated. Over-pressure protection devices that are decades old, or missing altogether.

national grid has shut the power off to the three areas, and the highway exits that service these areas off of 495 have been closed by the state police

Family crawled out of that mess, no update on how they are doing.

How do you overpressurize the whole frickin town... shouldn't once pressure blew off in one spot, the pressure was released and that was that? Shouldn't there be like NO WAY to overpressurize it to begin with, where something cuts off before it's allowed to happen?

This sounds... fishy.

they've had gas industry experts on the radio and they're just like "yeah this is basically impossible what the fuck"

the biggest problem with textbook cyber attacks is they're automatically 1000% more expensive on campus
