Not sure where Picard would fit in about a movie that invokes the remake of the original cast.

QT making a Star Trek film sounds like a disaster. Reverse/alternate timelines work better in real world settings because you can restrain yourself for the twist. Star Trek has infinite possibilities and less restraints for his story telling style. Or maybe he will have the freedom to make a classic Sci-Fi film. Who knows. The music should be good though.

i mean it's a really terrible idea so

it's like people forget how incredibly awesome and true to trek it was when they let jj dicklicker behind the wheel (remember when people actually liked him)

beyond was the only good trek since first contact and even first contact is only 5 or 6/10

"Ultra violent?" Former creator/ producer Gene Roddenberry blanched at making Star Trek violent. Remember the scene in Star Trek 2 where Khan inserted a parasitic worm into Checkov's ear to make him more compliant (the scream scene)? The original sequence was even more violent and horrible; but, Gene pushed to dial it back. If Gene were alive today, there might be some behind the scenes conflicts about making this new Trek movie "ultra violent" if that is indeed the new direction.
