this credit bubble gonna be epic when it pops
given bankruptcy rules and leniency maybe joke will be on everyone who didn't max out all 100 credit card offers and reverse mortgage everything they have to buy gold and bitcoin before that bubble pops
i dunno.......but i bet a good argument can be made for it

Meanwhile back in reality. The initial 14,355 is to set precedent. Once precedent is set then the rest will be focused upon.
Coinbase Ordered to Turn Over Identities of 14,355 Cryptocurrency Traders to the IRS - Motherboard
Quote:
US citizens are supposed to pay capital gains tax on cryptocurrency transactions and the IRS labels virtual currencies as property for federal tax purposes. As the court order shows, more than 10,000 people bought or sold more than $20,000 worth of cryptocurrency, but only ***8220;800 to 900 taxpayers a year have electronically filed returns with a property description related to bitcoin from 2013 through 2015.***8221;
This ***8220;suggests that many Coinbase users may not be reporting their bitcoin gains,***8221; the order reads.

Sorry can't hear you very well Highfive. All these comps that have been mining for years make a bunch of noise. Loud assed fans.

It's kind of surreal to see that people are now being required to file faxes for their Bitcoin earnings.
Should World of Warcraft gold also be subject to taxation by the government because it has a transferable value in the real world?

yeah I saw something about the number of bitcoin filings the other day. it really shocked me because that has got to be massively underfiled. I've had creative forms of income before but I always filed my **** accurately, way too easy for them to find this **** out in the digital age. then again, bitcoin could just be full of believers that haven't cashed out for the most part.
