[NBA] 2017-2018 Regular Season

gsw rotation used to be the talk du'jour but being able to rotate and keep up with them defensively/athletically doesn't really matter much anymore. if you don't have someone that can slow down kevin durant, they're gonna smoke you. and since there's like 3-5 dudes in the entire league that can do that good fuckin luck

IMO, trying to stop GSW with 1-on-1 matchups is going to end in tears, no matter who you have out there. There are just too many options on the floor that are too versatile. It needs team-wide focus to bring in the help and adjust straight away. You need to be able to jump in on the double team but in a way that still blocks the passing lane to the free man to stop that dish, or at least slow it down by pushing it through another set of hands first. I'm not going to pretend to know how you'd do that, though :) Like I said - defensive coordinator's nightmare.

Speaking of D though.. Jazz v OKC.. Utah are forcing all sorts of errors out of a team you should expect a whole lot better from. Damn good effort out there.

who knew that utah would be the perfect place for rubio
he looks really comfortable out there with that squad.

damn bucks with 2 straight clutch defensive stops
if only giannis didnt miss both free throws on one of them...

They all mesh really well, yeah. It's a team without superstars, but they just work really well together, happy to share the ball.. but it's their D that won them that game - solid, determined stuff. They annoyed and hassled, and aside from the turnovers they picked up, denied shots and forced bad ones. Really good to watch, I loves me a good gritty effort D. Rubio's just about perfect for that. Hopefully Exum can get back in before the season's out, it'll be a really interesting lineup to watch

The Oklahoma City Thunder will be ten games under .500 on Christmas Day. They'll stay there until...

Russell Westbrook gets injured a few games before the all-star break, probably something like an ACL/MCL tear.

Carmelo Anthony and Paul George will lead the team to ~.600 basketball for the remainder of the season, but it won't be enough. The Thunder will win 42 games and will miss the playoffs.

GG!

Mark my words!

wont lie, okc lost by double digits but westbrook's facilitating to his teammates wasn't bad at all. they just weren't executing.

westbrook showing he can be a floor general is far more impressive imo. okc will have some painful losses but the investment is worth it.
