china wins again

Maglevs? Sure, they make sense when you have a billion people living in each others pockets. These sorts of developments become viable only with the sorts of huge population densities that are also resulting in huge psychological issues, depression and suicides from people being forced to live their lives in conditions no-one should have to endure.

So to those Chines folk: enjoy your maglev. May it shine a tiny beacon of happiness in your otherwise miserable life of being a slave to the city until you can scratch together enough money to get the hell out of there like the rest of that growing middle class.

Still the longest operational one anywhere by far. And that 30Km from Shanghai airport to the city is a shitfest in a car.

It's an amazing piece of technology and engineering and outclasses any Western rapid transport I have ever seen. Why the fuck don't all major cities have airport-city fast rail? (b/c taxi unions and toll road lobby groups probably)

i live in nyc

on the way home to manhattan from brooklyn on the train i saw 4 gays, then next train 2 gays flaming, sitting on each others lap, and then 2 drag queens came in

then obviously on the way home passing through chelsea in a taxi, i see groups of gays, guys holding hands

this is usa

fking gay shit

The answer to that should be obvious:

1.) We taxpayers don't want to pay for countless billions so that a tiny minority of people living in an overpopulated city can travel easier. That isn't the entire state's responsibility, let alone the entire country's.

2.) The taxes we already do pay, go to welfare and other forms of corruption. If we didn't have niggers and spics overrunning welfare and we were a white country, we could have infinitely more "socialized" infrastructure. It works well when the people of a country are a unified, working people.

3.) Because of ultra-nanny-stating, the costs are ludicrous. Unions in particular, backed yet again by liberals, make things like this completely infeasible. When the liberals DO support ideas like this, they are insanely idiotic and unnecessary, like that railway they're trying to build now in CA.

My city cant even replace a bridge thats functionally obsolete and is currently carrying 2x its weight capacity on one of the biggest commercial interstates in the country.
Concrete keeps falling off and blocks traffic.

When the bridge opened in November 1963, it carried three lanes of traffic each way across the Ohio River. In 1986, the emergency shoulders were eliminated, and the bridge was restriped with four lanes in each direction. The bridge was designed to carry 85,000 vehicles per day, but in 2006 it carried 150,000 vehicles per day.[3] It is expected to carry 200,000 vehicles per day by 2025.[3] On June 21, 2011, chunks of concrete from the upper deck of the bridge fell onto the lower deck.[4] Construction crews closed lanes on both decks of the bridge, causing traffic delays of two hours or more. All lanes of the bridge were reportedly re-opened by June 22, 2011, but local commuters were encouraged to eliminate the Brent Spence Bridge from their daily drive until at least July 1, 2011. This incident lead to the belief that the Brent Spence Bridge is in immediate need of replacement and in danger of collapse. Residents often believe the bridge to be structurally deficient, but it is actually functionally obsolete.

But these dumbass motherfuckers find money and levy taxes for sports stadiums and stupid bullshit street cars.

But construction is on time and on budget a year after work officially began on the 3.6-mile route through parts of Downtown and Over-the-Rhine. The $133 million project still has a way to go – with the streetcar scheduled to open in September 2016.

Lol 130 million dollars for 3.6 miles of track and 2 million dollar operating budget. .....

The chinese couldve built a new bridge and hi speed rail from down town cincinnati to the airport and finished in 5 years or less.

Then they demolished cinergy field that was football + baseball and built two separate stadiums at 1 billion dollars so now the riverfront has three sports stadiums - great american, paul brown, and the bank arena,

The Wall Street Journal has a fascinating look at Hamilton County, Ohio, which is being crushed under the weight of the worst stadium financing deal ever.

Back in the mid-'90s, the Cincinnati Bengals threatened to leave town unless they got a new football-only stadium.

NFL: Paul Brown Stadium Was The Worst Public Financing Deal Ever - Business Insider

Lolololololol.

Capitalism effeciently separating workers from their hard earned dollars.

But its ok because the government can literally never go bankrupt bevause of irresponsible spending because the electorate represents a captive market that they can exhume limitless funds from.

Burn the witches!!!

At least in china they can execute corrupt officials once in a while to make it appear like they care about stopping corruption. Instead in the states the more power you have the more rights you get.

I say execute these idiots and set an example for their replacements.

Yea, that's definitely capitalism and nothing to do with corrupt liberal/neo-con elected officials running amok.

except it is the anti-thesis of Capitalism and markets

how people keep fucking this up baffles me

whites may have invented everything but now the west is destroying itself under socialist policies and jews. this in turn stifles innovation freeing the east to catch up and in many ways, come out ahead.

bingo

who invented the cell phone?

but who was one of the last countries on Earth to really use and implement them?

we have almost fifty years of AT&T VS. FCC VS. Everyone Else lawsuits and court cases to thank for that

Meanwhile people in bush Africa can "hear me now"

This goes for almost everything in America now
