i didnt say it was gonna be cheap. (or even affordable)
but if u play games u can afford a decent monitor. whats another 800-1k every 3-4 years for your hobby

are we buying bball shoes at payless still or what guys.

jer: mayb u should find a nice 1440p monitor on sale at a good price. i like 2nd monitors that go vertical. whats the lowest price on a reputable ips 1440p nowadays? probably too much? mayb a 1080p IPS?

The point of GSync is that it's supposed to adjust the refresh rate to whatever FPS you're getting in game. So it's supposed to help smooth out your game even if you're running at a lower FPS.

However, if you're spending $1000 on a monitor, I seriously doubt you're not running hardware powerful enough to handle most games at 1440P with high settings.

It's not a matter of having good enough hardware - some games have weird slowdowns no matter what ur running it on. Sc2 and csgo pros run those games on the lowest settings and u can play those games on toasters

Yeah, many of those weird slowdowns are due to the ancient way that monitors refresh the screen at a fixed interval. GSync is supposed to solve many of those problems.

People run that **** on the lowest settings because of input lag which is also another side effect of monitor refresh rates.

They have a pretty in-depth review of what GSync does. They talk about all these issues there.

Gsync isn't useable in windowed/full-screen windowed mode so it's pretty useless to me. Since using a 120+ hz monitor, I haven't really felt the need to have a smoother picture or anything. WTB cheaper 144hz IPS without Gsync.

Just troll craigslist for a decent used monitor, or get one the same size as what you have. It's not like you're gaming on it...

Here's an idea, get a ****ing new one, and slide your old monitor to the right and use the new one as your primary.
