(I will give Thirsty Dog props though... 12 Dogs is delicious!)

I prefer Bells Christmas Ale over Great Lakes, but both are solid.

I am waiting for Scaldis Noel to come out. Talk about Christmas in a glass. I have a Belgium gastropub down the road that has it on tap every winter. Rating here

In other news, my local gastropub is having a Deschutes take over this week. The pub has Deschutes Black Butte XXIV on tap (among many others, like Chasing Freshies, etc.)....Rating here

Tried these two last night and both were very good. I'd take the Ginger beer over the Cherry Cyser.

Not as sweet as you'd think. (from Michigan)

(from U.K.)

four peaks brewery has had a Mexican spiced chocolate ale that is amazing 'odelay'

a little 'thin' for a dark beer but is smooth and would rock in a float with vanilla ice cream

also they put out a pumpkin porter seasonal that rocks as well. a little sweet but its turned me on to trying more porters

Last night did a bit of beer snobbery and tried a bunch of different beers.

The nights winner, and a real shock to me was Shocktop Chocolate Wheat

Sounds like it would be bad, but it was actually very good. That and Leinenkeugals Snowdrift Vanilla Porter were my two favorites of the night.

If you're a real dark chocolate fan I would recommend the Sierra Nevada Narwahl.

Pliny the Younger is being born right now | Beer Country

You'd swear you were in Seattle with all the mutton chops and flannel waiting in line when this gets released.

yea I don't bother

not a big fan of their beer anyway but I do like the blind pig

menu sucks too (it's a small place and kitchen space is limited)

I will cruise by there on my bike and check out the line though since it's so close to my house

holy hell.....I'll be in line waiting for it too.

I really enjoyed this holiday brew.

Almost 12%.....spiced black IPA that can either age or be consumed instantly. I was rather impressed.

I have to agree that Russian River is probably the most pretentious brewery of snobs and douschenozzles I have ever been to.

I actually hate supporting them with my money most of the time.

Frequently Asked Questions

I read through that and I can all but hear them sniffing their own farts.
