We don't have any authority to attack without UN sanction. Matching one violation of international law with another is a mistake.

We have a large chemical weapon arsenal at our disposal, one of the largest in the world Thanks to the CDC and it preservation of various pandemic strains of disease.
If you go down that chemical hill, you also are opening the door for a lot of devastating human nightmares that could easily kill millions all over the world before it was gotten control of or an antidote could be provided for.
Yeah, lets not respond, allow that door to be breached, such a marvelous idea and we can talk all about how it is the same as bullets and bombs and feel good about ourselves amid the result.
After we know plague was used in the bible, think the Quaran does? Think it's a big leap for theocratic countries to make if nothing is done?

So you are in favor of the use of chemical weapons then.
Sheep usually take up the popular stance and I know mine isn't that it is just the logical one.

It have very little to do with chemical weapons and more to do with being Israel and Saudi Arabia's *****.
The 'limited' engagement is growing more unlimited with time. If the strikes don't get their intended result (Assad removed from power) expect more and more intervention to be needed until the desired result is achieved.

I have a distinct bad taste in my mouth of the UN and their ****ty troops from a place called Somalia where I spent 13 months in a ****ty area with ****ty people to get them to a place where it wasnt bad. We leave and and ****ty UN troops come in and guess what happens next? Blackhawk down.
That garbage never would have happened with the Marines in charge so **** you **** your war and **** all this ****. We either go in 100% and lay down the law or we do 0. Obama is a ****ing retard "well we will go in and do a little damage to his arsenal" Basically giving him a heads up..durrrr

Nope, sorry not confused at all. You don't get to pick which you can ignore by letting this door come open.

It fits in the same ill-advised place. Directing the Afghan political process with high explosives seems inelegant.

us gov look like complete asses trying to go after snowdwn after they've multiple times been caught lying about the situation and have setup a committee to help address some of the issues people are seeing with the nsa
and on a related note the us gov look like complete asses threatening to bom a foreign government on intelligence they have but won't share with others, and in light of the fact that when similar events happen in countries with no resources we care about, the us gov doesn't seem to have a moral obligation to do anything.

Yes you are confused. You are talking about biological weapons, not chemical weapons. There is no pandemic associated with chemical weapons.

I'm in favor of a response as well.
One problem, I don't trust what our government tells us when they claim to have proof that the chemical weapons attack came from Assad. Not after "Iraq has WMDs" and not after multiple other countries have expressed doubt over the source of the attack.
You lose you're right to play world police when you get caught making **** up to justify attacking other countries. If you're going to respond, make sure you've got UN support. No more going it alone based on evidence that nobody else agrees with.

As I said, you don't get to choose what comes out of that door so not you do not have a point. You open a whole panacea of ****.
While I'll guarantee you groups will use their religious basis for what they do...
