Episode I was cliche. Lucas has a formula he devised that is rather old fashion. He then followed that formula... and the Star Wars generation that is now all grown up and needs/expects something more sophisticated... well we get **** like Jar-Jar Binks... stereotypical and cliched villains like the Battle Droids, Trade Federation Envoys... and a protagonist dripping with so much false empathy that you want to strangle him dead rather then root for him (like you're supposed to do in movies).
Episode I didn't even feel like it was a Star Wars movie... if it didn't say "Star Wars" Episode I ... it could have been Episode I of a completely unrelated franchise.
80% of the characters in the story I wanted to punch in the mouth... and the ones you wanted to see more of? Like Darth Maul? They kill him off. That would be like having Darth Vader's TIE Fighter explode in the collision at the end of Episode IV.
Metachlorians? Really? Did you have to create a tangible explanation of what "The Force" was? Im pretty sure there is a chapter in the story telling manual about it being more effective to just leave something to the imagination of the audience... we're not idiots, we're not going to become hopelessly confused with the story if your not holding our hand to explain everything in minute detail... we know it's not real, we call it "suspension of disbelief".
You know... where we let certain things we know are impossible slide in the interest of being entertained by a sense of imagination?
**** You George.

people like george lucas are proof that success and ingenuity do not always go hand in hand
many rich people in history were simply lucky and/or fortunate to be born into the situations they were, nothing else. what percentage of uber-wealthy people fall into one of the two categories, they'll never admit.

If he replaced Anakin with whiny teen actor, why didn't he also replace OWK with Ewan MacGregor?
And why wouldn't we also be seeing the younger Yoda?
Oh wait, that would involve some semblance of logic.

He made the changes saying, "That's the way it should of been." For example, when the death star explodes in episode 4, the explosion is more dramatic. How could he put the younger A****n in episode VI when the III hadn't been made yet?
Movies are all CGI these days, makes me not care to go see them.

It's ok, because they changed Lucas' the original before they even made it.
http://www.scifiscripts.com/scripts/swd1_5-74.txt
like.. to something almost completly unrecognisable.
Lucas is just trying to turn it back into the pile of dog**** he had originally envisaged.

The original Star Wars was only successful because of the studio system keeping George Lucas in check. Experienced writers, producers and editors along with a groundbreaking special effects team created Star Wars. Lucas was completely beyond his depth.
The problem with I-III is that Lucas had too much clout and nobody would say "No, **** you George that's a dumb ****ing idea."
Also anyone who mentions anything about Star Wars books needs to **** off. I don't know how anyone could follow those things, with all their jibberjabber plotlines and gobbledegook character names.
