College Football 2011

Speaking of Arizona State, Oklahoma State hired a guy named dirk koetter to be their hc and the next day, or a few days later, he changed his mind and took the asu job. One of the guys passed over for the OSU job went back and begged for the spot and got it. Les Miles.

Best I can tell, here is the timeline:

ASU gets turned down by sumlin and others
turns to jones
jones receptive
asu students and boosters go crazy b/c they want a young and hip coach, just got rid of dennis eriksons old ass and see jones as much the same
showing boosters and students don't know shit about football
so ASU officials have to yank offer
and in order to save face, leak "gossip" so they don't look like total assholes (which they are)

According to June's agent, ASU basically yanked the offer off the table right as it was about to be signed.

Bizarre Experience in Negotiating
Just had one of the most bizarre endings to a set of productive discussions to bring a client to a new situation. Everything was set,few tweaks left, and the principal decision maker yanks the deal w no real explanation.

Insult to Injury
June Jones character is impeccable and unimpeachable, has done charitable&community, active&spiritual Christian faith. For any institution to try and scorch the earth by impugning man of honor is despicable—cowardly leaks.

ASU apparently leaked to the media the reason they pulled the offer was because of "character issues" in June Jones past.

WTF? My Tigers lost Malzahn to Arkansas St.? :(

Why the hell didn't he take over Vandy last year? They offered him good money too.
