it came to me as i was doing a painfully slow long run the other day for some reason. we're all pretty friendly and tight-knit in this community but i'm hoping this will encourage people to work out a little harder or maybe not skip a workout. it's a great feeling for whoever is being recognized and it's great motivation for anyone who wants to be competitive

Couldn't we have done this a few weeks ago so my Ironman time would have been tops! (13:39:20)
Anyways:
Ironman (Coeur d'Alene 2010- 13:39:20)
Marathon: 3:09:38 (2005, Baltimore)
13.1: 1:31:00 (2010, Danbury) (unofficial times in training have been under 1:25:00 but I've only ran one half marathon in my life and it was during Ironman training)
10k: 39:26 (2009, Annapolis trail run)
5k: 20:15 (Baltimore, 2005)
Only ran a handful of 5k's, speedwork raining runs generally around 18:30- will have to register for a fall 5k for fun!
This is exciting, I think I'll do a 5k, 10k, and half this fall to see if I can PR!

well played. I'm either doing CdA or Lake Placid next year (CdA makes more sense since I'm moving to CO).
Goal times:
Swim: 1:20 (11 mins off last year)
Bike: 6:30 (45 off last year)
Run: 3:50 (30 mins off last year)
Total: 11:40 (plus transitions) so sub 12:00

sorry but i've had 3 or 4 sub-5 hour centuries as well so i guess i get that one as well. the best that i have written results for was 4:40 and i wrote "final 10 miles zone 5, final 2 miles 5+" which means i didn't pace myself to have the fastest time and had a little something left in my tank at the end
my best 5k run was 23:42 though, so... :-\

Yeah I'm gonna hold on to that sorry bro. I'm thinking I'll do CdA again, only problem is that peak training interferes with ski mountaineering season a bit but I'm sure I could make it work, having natural light until 8:30pm all week helps. What happened that you had a 7:15 bike leg?
Soup I figured you'd take the century title since my best C time was a low-effort deal on tired legs the day after skiing a 14er.

Yeah you definitely need Concept2 in there, excellent standard test of fitness. My 500 is 1:33.7, so Teckman just got me. Standard distance is 2k, mine is 7:17.9

Olympic Tri: 2:59:40 (Bridgeport, 2010) - very slow time, goal was actually sub 2:30 but hadn't trained in the 30 days from IM last year to this tri! Anyways, it will stand until I do another olympic.

****ty...
1:36 for my last sprint tri time.
OK, not really fast but here are my times for a 15mi TT (cycling)
Mountain Bike Category: 46:07
Road Bike: 46:10
it was literally my first time riding the roadie. I was pissed but after talking to a few guys (and some folks here) that is not unusual after switching to a brand new geomerty.

okay.
As far as lifetime pr's I'm not going to participate, for a few different reasons. I'll gather my best times over the last 2 years, as that's the best I can do right now. Posting lifetime pr's makes total sense for you guys, you're not only capable of putting those kinds of results in again, but in all probability you're going to be doing better. But for someone like me it doesn't- lots of people were lots of things "back in the day" but for me to point to a 33 minute Bolder Boulder in 1993 is stupid because I'm not capable of anything remotely similar here in 2011. I may as well ask you all to come see me at the next bag convention, where I'll be manning the douche exhibit. I'll put my best times each year--I'm down right now, but I'm not quitting, and I won't stop competing until my 5k times can't be calculated without a calendar.
Disclaimer: Glare, Reno, Sarbuize, soup, 4star and the rest of you dickheads put your lifetime pr's on the tribalwar fitness boards when you hit 45 years old, and I'll have that 33 min 10K back up along with a jar of my canned farts for each of you. By then I'll be pushing 60 and I don't think you want any part of that.
