The Witcher 2

Bought the game from bestbuy. And I'm getting this CRC error crap on the install. Apparently they released the game with a bunch of fucked up DVDs or something.
 
Notes on Witcher 2 so far after an evening of playing.

1. Combat is very different, you have to block a lot but it opens up shots on guys with shields when you block them. Much harder to fight groups in this one but maybe it'll change as I level up. I used to love fighting groups in Witcher 1.

2. Finding stashes and erbs is really tough compared to W1. There is no option for "show items" like W1 so you have to really run around everywhere if you want to find everything. The quest items glow though, so those are easy to find when they drop.

3. No invert mouse in options. How do you drop the ball on that when it's an over the shoulder cam game? Seriously? It's an easy fix to put a - in front of your Y axis number in the user.ini in your documents and settings, but how annoying.

4. The game play has added a bunch of mini game type elements. The dice game is tougher to see, the fist fighting is a bit, tougher I guess. Or more "respond to this key" type crap. I guess that was to cater to consoles.

Overall it's pretty good, but I would go and play The Witcher 1 HD enhanced Directors cut before playing this for sure.

when can you start putting abilities into the other trees.
the f is adrenaline. when to use it, when does it come up, wheres the meter for it.
 
Z was orignally bound to 'medallion' i believe

i'm guessing level 10 for unlocking the different trees? maybe its a story line unlock

Thanks for headsup. I'm pretty sure I would've either googled furiously or uninstalled the game altogether.
 
game is awsome

i hated it for the first 2 days

but after you get past lvl 7 and USE TRAPS AND USE POTIONS

also there are some convos if you fuck them up, end the game so try not to do that too

sometimes the E(block) and Q(sign) dont trigger but a patch in 48 hours should fix it

at first i missed the W1 3 stance thing but lvling out "group" was easy mode

this game is hard, no MMO style missions, you have to FIND shit

Parry (E key) requires vigor for some stupid reason, I was mashing it with no result sometimes and couldn't figure out why it wasn't working, never had a sign not fire though
