Anyways, if you're such an expert on composition.

Why'd you take this?

Because it was fun, no other reason. It wasn't meant to be an example of composition, because I have worse composition skills than you (but I can admit that). However I am learning to improve all the time, that shot was a once off fun shot playing with the toy heli.

Seriously triple, I don't want this turning into a catfight on your part.

I would pay money for some of Elvis Hitlers photographs, I wouldn't pay money for any of the shots you have posted. I don't have a problem with abstraction, and I sure as **** don't think I am an artist in even the remotest stretch of the imagination.

I bought a 7D because I could afford to drop the cash on it without a second thought, I also take photos and videos with it, but since I hadn't been taking a lot of photos since my Minolta 35mm broke about 5 years ago I consider myself a beginner, and it shows quite clearly ... the difference between me and you is that I recognise I produce ****, whereas your ego prevents you from recognising when you produce turds.

Comparing the horse you captured in the warehouse to a greek statue ... ... seriously dude, this shows just how far you have gone off the rails. Just because you emulate a classic pose doesn't make for a "great" photo, I could get my ****ing 10yo to strike the same pose in the back yard and take a photo, that wouldn't make it any more impressive than yours.

The difference between EH and you is that EH has a genuine artistic talent, an eye for composition, an understanding of perspective, aperture, focus, DOF and all the other technical skills necessary to produce a technically good shot. You really could learn a lot from his photos ... but only if you can pull your ego back a bit and begin to recognise your **** in comparison to your flukes.

Now I am dropping this subject, so your replies don't mean you have "won" it just simply means that I couldn't be ****ed arguing with a brick wall of stupidity anymore.

It's not that I don't value your opinion.

I just value it far less than real photographers who know what they're talking about.

And if you can take pictures like me fairly easily, then do it.

I said "would" not "going to", implying intent, but not followthrough

Nice try though.

You should consider chasing up some canvas printers and getting some of your work framed for sale or sell shots to some stock websites.

You posted that photo before and if I remember you said you had some issues making it an HDR before.

Great work with photomatix.. Got a small bit of haloing but its not easy to avoid it. Nice job with the HDR. If you want to continue shooting HDR check out this great tutorial to get you there faster.

yea but i feel like it suits the subject. You have this building with this crazy over the top architecture, and the hdr is overboard but not so overboard as to be a mess of pixels. it makes everything in the picture feel more monumental and important, which is why its great he also got so low to the ground. the hdr is dramatic, and thats okay, because the picture is of something dramatic.

good job

The use of HDR is really up to whoever is doing the work, which is great because it allows for people to do some really crazy stuff with pictures. For me that picture is way to contrasty, HDRs like that actually stress my eyes however i can see what he's going for and if it appeals to him that's cool. I like really subtle use of HDR.

I got my midterm back for my darkroom class today, scored 9/10 on it. Teacher said my print was really well done.

And I scored 16/18 on my first assignment for my Basic Photography class.

Scans coming up this weekend.

Also *bump*

photography is one of those classes that the teacher will never flat out give you 100% because then you think you're camera god, but as long as you do your assignment every week and make your prints you'll get an A at the end.
