Our story begins three hours before the draft with some wishful thinking from a Miami Dolphins fan:

As the draft begins and the Browns pick Joe Thomas with the third overall pick, hope bubbles:

It is time. Miami has made their decision. Sweaty Dolphins fans everywhere wait with baited breath in a state of pre-cum as the commissioner approaches the podium to announce Brady Quinn.

Dolphins draft Ginn, not Quinn
BY CARL KOTALA
FLORIDA TODAY
...
As Cameron walked up to the podium to address the team’s draft day party crowd, those who hadn’t already stormed out greeted their new head coach with a chorus of boos and even a few chants of “Brady! Brady!”
“Let me tell you about the young man we just drafted...” Cameron said in between boos. “We drafted the Ginn family. I’ve known this family for over 10 years. I’ve watched this young man for a long time. You’re going to be thrilled every time you watch this young man as a punt returner, because he’s going to be a great returner for us.”
Drafting a punt returner with the No. 9 pick when a potential franchise quarterback was sitting there waiting to be taken isn’t likely to go over well with Dolphins fans … unless there is somebody else in the Ginn family who can play quarterback.

Dolphins fans fall into apathy as Cleveland sinks the final nail into their hopes
Scout.com: Believe it or not! Browns get Quinn, too!
Quote:
The Browns traded back into the first round with Dallas (22nd overall) to get Quinn. The Browns gave up their second-round pick (36th overall) in 2006 and their first round draft choice in 2008 to make the deal.
Savage described the series of events that allowed the Browns to end up with the second-highest rated quarterback in the draft.
“This is a scenario that we could’ve only done it in our dreams,” Savage said...
Savage was asked why he thought Quinn dropped all the way to the 22nd spot.
“I think it’s circumstantial, more than anything,” Savage said. “Most of the other teams already have committed to their quarterback."
“We were at the top of the draft and felt we needed to solidify our offensive line,” Savage said. “When Brady fell out of the top 10, we worked the phones very hard to try to get him. I couldn’t imagine him being able to come back to us."

Hopefully we'll be saying "we told you so" in six months.
Because, you know, all those other weird moves in the past have worked out so well. Yeah.

Hey, if culpepper is healthy this year, dolphin fans will forget all about gay Quinn.

I could care less about the Dolphins, but that organization has been making dumb move after dumb move in recent years. Their fans have every right to be pissed off after the poor decision making that was displayed today. It's almost like they want to be a sub-par football team.

And then they wasted their next pick on Beck, who was projected to go in the 5th round.

It's funny, but still not as funny as the Jets draft montage.

Ginn is not a bad pick for the Dolphins. He's electric. I don't know about the later picks. But **** Quinn. The fact that he brought his bimbo to the draft alone dropped that pretty boy, weak armed mother****er's stock.

I'm not supporting Quinn.. I think he's overrated and won't live up to the hype he gets but Miami picking Ginn is ****ing hilarious. Ginn's gonna get manhandled in the NFL..

Ginn won't do too badly.
But Quinn will get steamrolled repeatedly. And suck while doing it. I, for one, will not be watching the Browns this year. Again.
Indianapolis WILL win the Superbowl again this year. That's my bet.

I don't really get the hype on Beck, and what's even funnier is people comparing him to Quinn, even though one is 6'4 235 lbs and the other is like 6'2 200 lbs. The knock on Quinn is that he's a system QB... what, does that make Tom Brady a system QB too? What the **** is Beck @ BYU then because they have more of a spread shotgun offense than ND does.
