when I looked for a home theatre system generally the rule was you want your amp and speakers both at the same ohms. 4 or 8 usually.
I've been looking at PAs and a lot of them are rated at 4 ohms but the speakers they include are rated at 8 ohms.

can it fade in and out? like a bad cable could produce?

I have a Marshall JTM30 and it's having issues.
It cuts out completely sometimes. other times it does this fade out thing.

What I'd like to do is buy an elite, transfer my old HD to the elite 120gb and then possibly mod my old unit.
But I recall hearing that once you use the data transfer kit it renders the old small hd useless. Is that true? You have to throw out the old one?
