    Victor Wooten's 'The Music Lesson'

Has anyone here read this? I bought it on a whim a few days ago and boogied through it. It's pretty interesting. He takes a Carlos Castaneda approach in presenting a fictional/mythical character who taught him in a very unconventional and "new age" sense how to really play after years of...

    Various piano stuff I've done

Hey. Some of you have heard some of this, some haven't. This is primarily two recording sessions I've done, the first being selections from my masters recital and the second being my living room recordings on my Steinway M back in 2001. There's some pretty strange music here. I concentrate...

    Jazz Real Books Volumes 1-3

Hi everyone. I have all 3 original Real Books in .pdf format. This isn't exactly warez because the books were never published to begin with. They themselves have been sort of jazz warez since the 1970s. Anyway, I offer them to you free - right here, right now. What are they? They are...

How to snap your fingers like a black man

My huge musical lesson of the day: When snapping your fingers in rhythm to a tune, throw one away in between each snap - nonchalantly, as if you're miming the pitching of a card to your side across a card table. "Jes hang loose blood. She gonna catch up on the rebound on the medicide..."...

    Das Boot - COMPLETE MINISERIES

This is sort-of warez, but not really...since this is not a release that's readily available in the US, so bite me. I know there are a few people here who really liked this movie. The director's cut was excellent because it added 60 minutes to the original and tightened up certain production...

    Samuel Smith's Imperial Stout

...is better than Guinness. And stronger too. Also, talk all you want about the oatmeal stout, but this is still infinitely better.

    Editing DiVX Subtitle files?

I downloaded a foreign .avi and the .srt subtitles that came along with it are about 20 seconds behind, which is really annoying. Anyone know how I might go about editing them to put them back in synch?

    TW musicians - notation software?

I do a lot of composing, and pride myself on doing it by hand. But I'd like to make some more polished-looking copies of a Sonata movement I just wrote - among other things - and so I'd like to get some notation software. I'm looking at Finale 2004 right now. Anything else I might look at?

    Kurayami...

That Call of Duty thread got me thinking of re-installing OFP - it's been two years since I played it. Anyway, I remember you putting up some screens about a month ago of some ofp mods that made the game look really slick. Which mods should I get, and where can I find them?

    Hockey Trivia Question

So long as we have the baseball trivia thread... Who were the only 5 players to get 100 or more points in their NHL rookie season? (hint: Gretzky doesn't count, his rookie season was WHA)

Letter from a friend in Iraq

Just received an e-mail from a friend of mine who's in the army. Thought I'd post it for those curious about what it's like in Iraq from a soldier's perspective. This guy is in civil affairs. His job has changed a bit since the beginning. He was originally in Psy-ops, but has spent the majority...
