Monday i reeled in a line and it had a $50 dollar reel and rod combo....

Today i took it to a different lake and within less then a dozen casts i land a good sized fish. reel was completely bent then whap it goes slack... line broke. Now im thinking i am such a dumb ass for not switching the line on that SOAB. few more bites but only landed one little guy this morning.

that is a good size for a bluegill. i watched a guy today taking ones 1/3rd the size to eat.

Going salmon fishing on Sunday.

I'm off all week so I'll probably hit up one of my favorite trout lakes later.

I've shot lots of fish all over the pacific coast.

I went this morning and got a nice pan size pinky snapper off a local pier. No photo but it looked like this

still really warm here for trout. they wont even stock the lakes till late november. it was 104 here yesterday

I found a nice little lake not too far from my house with a wild population of rainbows and cutthroats. It's cooled off quite a bit here so I'm hoping they'll be biting.

got three littles this morning. Been on a littles streak lately. i am due for a good sized one...

got another bat ray today. hooked it on a swimbait.

then had something BIG on the line. i have a 8-12 lb pole with 8lb line. my pole was fully bent. when it went slack i figured well there goes a new jig head. NOPE it straightened the hook. i guess there goes a jig head anyway... no way i should re bend it and use it again.

nothing i could take home and eat but it was a good day none the less.

BTW this is all just fishing off the rocks at Mission Bay.

I need to go fishing before the leaves start falling off the trees here. Just haven't bought a reel to replace one that a damn lunker busted.

Do you not know how to loosen off your drag?
