shit is going down in massachusetts

as many as 50 home explosions over three towns from overloaded gas lines, **** is cray

coombz 09-13-2018 18:46

WP

wasted property

triple 09-13-2018 18:57

39 fires

most stuff I've seen has been fires, only seen a few explosions

there's one house that's just completely gone

JustinCase 09-13-2018 19:06

they're paying for their sins against MAGA

Mr Jimmy Pop 09-13-2018 19:10

Yeah it just took me 2-1/2 hours to get home from Hudson Ma to Hampton Beach Nh because of it. I knew something was up when the 40th emergency vehicle pass me and the sky filled with news helicopters. Crazy

The Lawrence fire chief has referred to it as responding to a whack a mole event because they are so spread out.

They are claiming it started with a main gas line explosion.

State police: Columbia Gas customers in Lawrence, Andover, North Andover should evacuate

Goshin 09-13-2018 19:21

thats only 12 million dollars or more in structural property damage
no big deal

i wonder if they will be able to claim immunity

SuicideTaxi 09-13-2018 19:26

homes are serviced by a high pressure gas line, and the transition to low pressure lines that service homes are governed somehow

columbia gas ****ed that up today during an upgrade

usually you see one house blow up that's the end of it

this is at 60+ houses at the moment across 3 towns

no one I've seen or heard from has been able to explain how this happened.. we know why, it's obviously an overpressure in the lines, just not how that overpressure came to be

Hellsfury 09-13-2018 19:46

Over-pressurize main gas line, rupture and blow out the regulator's supplying homes.

Imagine how old those neighborhoods are and when that infrastructure was installed or updated. Over-pressure protection devices that are decades old, or missing altogether.

Paladin-5 09-13-2018 19:47

national grid has shut the power off to the three areas, and the highway exits that service these areas off of 495 have been closed by the state police

triple 09-13-2018 19:54

I'd say this looks like a textbook cyber attack but honestly who would attack lawrence

Family crawled out of that mess, no update on how they are doing.

SuicideTaxi 09-13-2018 19:57

How do you overpressurize the whole frickin town... shouldn't once pressure blew off in one spot, the pressure was released and that was that? Shouldn't there be like NO WAY to overpressurize it to begin with, where something cuts off before it's allowed to happen?

This sounds... fishy.

triple 09-13-2018 20:04

they've had gas industry experts on the radio and they're just like "yeah this is basically impossible what the ****"

Mr Jimmy Pop 09-13-2018 20:06

Regulators made in China?

Fool 09-13-2018 20:07

the biggest problem with textbook cyber attacks is they're automatically 1000% more expensive on campus

Goshin 09-13-2018 20:09

how many people did they kill?

def 09-13-2018 20:11

**** cant think of a good gas pun

So far none, I think most people were at work when this went down. So far only 6 injuries reported 2 critical.
