Are DVI cables worth it?

Got a new monitor, didn't come with DVI cables. I am just using a converter right now for the analog cables instead.

So, is it worth getting unlazy and going out to get a pair of cables? There a noticeable difference?

bam 01-30-2009 11:15

There is a large difference from VGA -> DVI

iNVAR 01-30-2009 11:16

HDMI Cable, Home Theater Accessories, HDMI Products, Cables, Adapters, Video/Audio Switch, Networking, USB, Firewire, Printer Toner, and more!

SonGohan 01-30-2009 11:17

There an 'In' brand of cables? Or are we talking about any el generico will do.

bam 01-30-2009 11:20

Cables are cables

SonGohan 01-30-2009 11:23

But they aren't MONSTER CABLES!

But fair enough, I'll purchase a pair tonight. Hopefully Circuit City isn't closed yet.

iNVAR 01-30-2009 11:24

try clicking on my link. geez.

SonGohan 01-30-2009 11:25

But I don't want colored HDMI cables!

Durak 01-30-2009 11:25

songohan is a ****ing retard

it's a catch 20

bam 01-30-2009 11:28

I'd buy cables from where iNVAR posted or from eBay.... Way cheaper than any retail store.

SonGohan 01-30-2009 11:29

But I don't want to wait.

Empirion 01-30-2009 11:30

My card does HDMI through an adapter I'm going for that but I've been to lazy to order the 15' cable required.

I've been watching my pirated HD content through VGA with my laptop. It works good enough. My TV has VGA and not DVI for whatever reason.

PessimiStick 01-30-2009 11:33

You can spend $60 at a store, or you can spend $10 on Monoprice. Not a hard choice, IMO.

SonGohan 01-30-2009 11:34

Wow. Didn't know they **** you that bad.

See, now there's the catch 20. It's if I'm willing to pay the unlazy tax, basically. But I think I shall purchase from your store link this time, Invar.

CrazyTexan 01-30-2009 11:46

I run dual monitors at work and one is DVI and the other is Analog. There is a clear difference but they both look good.

SonGohan 01-30-2009 11:47

Oooh, dual monitors. Good idea. Guess it's best not to waste the old one.
