I've been using Photoshop since version 2.

Back in the day we had to clone stamp damn near everything and then manually tweak individual pixels to get the colour right. Oddly enough, that low tech solution could produce much better results than what you did.

Here's a tip, if everyone's saying it looks airbrushed then you've failed at your job. A good retouch should look like you never did anything at all.
