Ryan opens door to stepping down as convention chair, if Trump asks

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel columnist Christian Schneider tweeted: “.@SpeakerRyan on whether he'd step down as convention chair if Trump asks: I'll do whatever he asks me to do.”

Asked about the reported comments, a spokeswoman for Ryan confirmed to Fox News: “That is his position, yes.”

It's a ball in your court move by Ryan.

At least Trump knows what the **** is going on

Trump also blamed Bill Clinton for 1992's North American Free Trade Agreement, when it was actually signed by his predecessor, Republican George H.W. Bush.

"Clinton is the one that approved NAFTA," Trump said. "NAFTA is the worst deal, one of the worst deals our country has ever made, from an economic standpoint … one of the worst deals, ever."

Reggs 05-09-2016 14:50

Clinton signed it into law.

Captain Tele 05-09-2016 15:57

had to google:

did clinton sign nafta into law

Quote:

The bill passed the Senate on November 20, 1993, 61-38. Senate supporters were 34 Republicans and 27 Democrats. Clinton signed it into law on December 8, 1993; the agreement went into effect on January 1, 1994. Clinton, while signing the NAFTA bill, stated that "NAFTA means jobs.

for ****s sake.. I simply posted that Trump blamed the negotiation of NAFTA on Clinton. That was Bush negotiating

starwolf_nexus 05-09-2016 18:37

If Clinton didn't like the negotiations or approved of them he had two options to choose from.

1. Sign it (approval of the negotiations on his behalf)
2. Veto it (disapproval of the negotiations on his behalf)

As THE leader who signed it you can't renege on your part and say "hey even though my signature on this bill, I had no part in it and the blame lays squarely at the feet of Bush!" When you have every opportunity to throw it back to congress if he had disagreed with it.

JoMo 05-09-2016 18:51

Clinton signed NAFTA into law, then took credit for it. So Clinton is ultimately responsible for it.

"BuuuBuuuuBuuuuutttt Bush Did It (®)"

same goes for TTIP, Patriot Act 2.0, Fast and Furious and NDAA if we try hard enough.

going on 8-20 years of never holding a DNC POTUS accountable for anything isn't bad now
