As THE leader who signed it you can't renege on your part and say "hey even though my signature on this bill, I had no part in it and the blame lays squarely at the feet of Bush!" When you have every opportunity to throw it back to congress if he had disagreed with it.

Same goes for most Congressional budgets.....or lack there of

When one sides candidate wins they blame Congress for all debts/deficits

When the other side wins they blame the President

In United States government, the line-item veto, or partial veto, is the power of an executive authority to nullify or cancel specific provisions of a bill, usually a budget appropriations bill, without vetoing the entire legislative package. The line-item vetoes are usually subject to the possibility of legislative override as are traditional vetoes.

You really are ****ing retarded. Trump blamed the deal on Clinton. Bush negotiated the deal. Clinton signed it into law. The blame falls on both but who negotiated the deal? Bush. Who signed the negotiated agreement? Bush. Why? because it was his deal. That is what trump was railing on. ****ing moron. You would expect a presidential candidate to know how things went down.

Go **** yourself **** stain

Nice try. I'm about as middle as you can get. I'm armed to the teeth and hate big government. I agree that people need help sometimes but I think those benefits should come with strings, drug test, volunteer work.. anything but sitting on their ass at home. Hillary is evil and Trump is evil. Trump is all but giving the presidency to Hillary. The GOP is a shadow of what it used to be.

bunch of butt hurt trump dick suckers who are too blind to see what's really at stake here

I hate when people say 'but that should come with strings, like a drug test'

drug test for what? You are protected against illegal search and seizure without a warrant. To get a warrant means you think they committed a crime...whats their crime? Not being able to get a job in a **** economy created by the same government thats telling these people they need to prove they aren't drug addicts in order to get the paltry sum the government gives them?

Volunteer work? So you want to work them for free? Kinda sounds like slave labor. But hey, they're poor, so its ok.

SuperTrap 05-09-2016 22:38

Everyone works.. why not work for benefits.. plenty of voluntary stuff. Better than watching tv all day and collecting benefits

Because if you're going to make them work, then they will have to be paid minimum wage...by law. If you pay them minimum wage its probably going to be damn sure more than the pocket change they generally get.

For stuff like unemployment benefits...you pay for that. Its not 'unemployment benefits'..its 'unemployment insurance'. Why should you have to work for something you already worked for

SuperTrap 05-09-2016 22:42

Talking welfare. They will get sick of working for benefits and realize holding a job is worth it. Drug testing? Hell yeah, pop positive and adios benefits. Real world **** you know. You help people you don't coddle them

Drug testing for welfare benefits (as it is put forth today) is so monumentally stupid its staggering.

SuperTrap 05-09-2016 22:48

So just keep paying them and getting nothing out of it? No one learns and we have a nation of tit suckers

JuggerNaught 05-09-2016 22:53

We don't just keep paying them and get nothing out of it. You can't get welfare forever.

SuperTrap 05-09-2016 22:56

You don't want to hear my opinion on females that just keep squeezing out kids for benefits.. 1 kid and mandatory tubal ligation.

KingSobieski 05-09-2016 22:58

They wanted to try the drug testing for welfare benefits in Florida. Turned out the governor's wife had a massive stake holding in the drug testing company that was tapped to run the tests. Lolololololololol.

Might as well go ahead and arrest them for illegal activities.

Drug testing companies and privatized prisons are going to funnel all that extra cheese back into the fat pigs' hands.

A full panel drug test is really expensive anyways, kicking the unemployed in the nuts and forcing them into a life of crime carries added expense.

Also can't really take away welfare benefits if, for instance, a woman is supporting her kids. Smoke one joint at a cookout and lose your kids! America!

Might as well just make everyone wear a wrist bracelet that continually samples your fitness and automatically adjusts your insurance rates to account for your risk factor. Illicit drugs detected? A police car has been dispatched to your current location. Be advised to cooperate fully with the police officer. Marijuana is a scheduled 1 narcotic and the officer is advised to use lethal force if required. Thanks for using BioMetricsPlus Citizen Scanner! Your account has been charged and your balance is -2 million credits. Have a Bio-riffic day!

SuperTrap 05-09-2016 23:00

If you smoke a joint in an area were it's still illegal and you pop positive you get fired. Real world rules should apply to everyone

but someone on welfare can drink all day and keep getting those benefits?

edualC

i don't entirely disagree with your overall stance, but at some point you gotta realise that these broad generalizations and sweeping statements just make good soundbites...they don't work out so well in reality

SuperTrap 05-09-2016 23:05

Alcohol is legal. I would be all for making it illegal for government benefit eligibility. It should be a helping hand not a give away

yeah i think that was kind of my point

you're OK with welfare recipients using taxpayer money on one kind of harmful recreational drug, but not others...

similar to the MidAir thread, i can draw large conclusions from this small piece of evidence

SuperTrap 05-09-2016 23:15

No.. no way. it's not ok as I said. I'm not concerned about weed.(someone else brought up the joint and I ran with it) I'm talking about the rest cocaine meth pcp, those drugs. Like I said if I had my way alcohol would be a reason to cancel benefits.

coombz 05-09-2016 23:17

ah yea my bad i misread or just plain didn't read your followup sentence, apologies

while we're just talking hypotheticals here, what about if all of those drugs were legal, but you have to have a legit job to buy 'em? :)

i don't give a **** if people want to get ****ed up on crack and smack as long as they aren't stealing my stereo to pay for it

what if all the money that people spend on drugs went to the govt instead of organised crime :jawdrop:

dang

SuperTrap 05-09-2016 23:18

Problem solved and we could all enjoy being ****ed up after work

coombz 05-09-2016 23:19

:bandit:

SuperTrap 05-09-2016 23:22

I guess my point is I have done drugs practically my whole life and yet I still managed to go to work. Having taxes subsidize someone less responsible bugs me

coombz 05-09-2016 23:31

yeah im the same as you in that way, but I think I just consider those people to be practically a different species to me...so I don't really compare myself to them

like, it doesn't bother me that I'm going to work while they're watching daytime tv and getting high. I still feel like I've got the better deal by far :)

maybe part of it is the perception that people on benefits are living a life of ease and luxury while we do all the grafting for them...I've lived around enough welfare scum to see the reality

another point that is relevant (to me at least), is that if your tax money wasn't going to these lazy ****s it'd just be going to some corrupt government ******* or backroom-dealing executive anyway... it's sure as hell not going to someone who deserves it

This is the broken window argument. Instead of directly stealing your stereo, you're paying taxes to support their lifestyle, which removes money out of your wallet to buy other things.

This is the problem with universal healthcare, beyond all of the bull**** about big pharma, insurance companies, etc. Once the government is in charge of your health, they will then have the right to dictate your life choices, or we all end up paying for them. Bloomberg and his anti transfat and anti big gulp laws are a tip of the iceberg. Next it will be energy drinks and so on. And a lot of you will be cheering it all on, because it doesn't effect you personally, until it actually does. Then it will be too late, because all of those ****s you ragged on for enjoying a donut and a 32 oz diet coke will be looking at you and laughing their ass off.

This won't end with food, drugs, or anything else ingested. You'll need a license to do anything dangerous, so that the government can tax the **** out of you for doing it.

All of you that support legalization of drugs fail to realize the costs for doing so. Sure, we'd save money on incarceration, but we'd be spending money on hospital costs, treatment, and increased crime from theft to feed their addictions. People addicted to Meth and Heroin aren't normally functioning tax paying members of society.

OK, end of my rambling.
