Dorian

I looked it up.
Hurricane Dorian spares Jeffrey Epstein's pedophile island'
It's funny how any thing related to Epstein now includes the title of Pedophile Island
Doesn't matter. Unless there's a full staff of workers maintaining the place, it will become over run with weeds.

Disney and Norwegian are coming to the rescue with 1 million dollars and supplies to rebuild the island. That explains why they rebuild the place.

Hurricane Dorian Makes Bahamians the Latest Climate-Crisis Victims

The country has a tiny carbon footprint but carries the burden of being ground zero for global warming.

All the cops in Palm Beach could say about Jeffrey Epstein was "Niiiiiiiiiiiiice."

Back to Dorian: that fucker's gonna be like the asshole that walks the entire length of your car as he keys it.

No, the wind wouldn't blow away the car, but falling tree branches would break off a mirror. Had it happen on our truck.

So here we are again. The storm destroys the Bahamas, all the relief effort is going there, yet the storm caused a lot of damage to the US coast. Yet no one is talking about that.

The only good news is there's a bunch of electric trucks ready to move in and restore power.

There's no reason for them to cancel flights if you're talking about ATL (Jackson-Hartsfield) The feeder bands will barely reach.

If this thing stays parked, it's going to fizzle out because the feeder bands are over land (Florida). It looks a lot smaller now.

I go back to work this morning (Tuesday). Have a rehearsal tonight, gig on Thursday.

Flights were on time. Also holy shit did prices increase! Not sure if it was due to Dorean, though I suspect it was.

1. lets buy up all that property for 1$/acre and build an impenetrable tw fortress of doom! :doom:
3. profit!

Lots of stories on the local news about the aftermath.
At least 70,000 Bahamas residents left homeless by Dorian as death toll rises to 43 WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports | Fort Lauderdale
No one there had insurance, too expensive. Cruise ships are taking people to other islands and to the USA to buy building supplies. They're going to rebuild, just like an ant pile that has been washed away. That's because there's a tourism industry there, with cruise ships and Disney. Plus the two islands that got hit are only a small part of the Bahamas. The main islands are to the south and didn't get hit that bad.

Man - they all got fucked hard. That said, "marsh harbor" in a hurricane zone seems a good bet for something like this to happen. God speed and good luck. Hopefully, the private sector steps up with some assistance.

They tell everyone to buy a bunch of supplies before the storm hits, but guess what, it didn't matter in the Bahamas. The place was wiped off the map. All this crap about buying water, food for 7 days, boarding up, all for nothing if your place takes a direct hit.

The reason they want you to have all these supplies is because the power will go out and if you're in an evacuation zone, they shut off the water before the storm hits.

But for most people inland, none of this applies. Yet they scare people into buying a bunch of supplies for nothing. Now they're asking everyone in Florida to buy and send a list of supplies to the Bahamas. People are actually doing it too.

The point of my post, is that the preparation for a hurricane is flawed if it makes a direct hit. None of those people are ready when the storm hits, and they're all fucked after it passes.
