top legendary rock and roll stars (who is)

they played for 40 years straight with the same lineup and nailed every single note 6 nights a week 11 months a year 40 years straight

putting out platinum and gold albums almost every other year along the way

literally no other band has ever even hoped to come close to that, the next closest streak is like mid-period not making good music anymore rolling stones with 9 years

What does the OP mean by legendary at the top? You mean who is "not retired" that is from the 70s and 80s that is the best? It would probably be The Eagles, who have "retired" a few times then kept going. Solo would probably be Billy Joel who can sell out MSG (Maddison Square Garden) for two weeks. Elton John would be another who had a residency in Vegas.

I'm in a tribute band, and the top tributes who get all the work are The Eagles, Billy Joel, Journey, Styx, Boston. Then we get "B" level acts like Fleetwood Mac, Three Dog Night (my tribute),

I just played in from of 1k people at an amphitheater. You guys want to see it?

some people's ears are unable to become accustomed to the sounds of real instruments being played extremely proficiently by lifetime masters, it's a defect sometimes known as stunted brain or alternately as surprisingly low iq

Ngfm will u cover moves like jagger

No chance of being in the stratosphere with the likes of rock and roll legends maroon five but a bunch of geriatric nerds in head to toe denim singing that song holds some promise

No, but I'm also in a horn band, and we're covering "Valerie" by Amy Winehouse because it's a dance tune. It's kinda weird because we have a guy singing the song. We also learned a KC and the Sunshine band medley.

The "B" level acts play at the local casinos, smaller amphitheaters, and festivals. What basically happens is the members of the group die off, but one or two remaining members will continue the group using the name. For example, the members of Three Dog Night have died, except one singer. He's still out there on the "B" circuit.

Someone obviously thinks the first album Rush put out was moving pictures.

Hint, their debut self titled album is wall to wall rock and roll. And of course there is 2112.

To answer the op question, hard to say since almost all of the legendary bands probably have one original member left.

aside from maroon5 starring rocking icon and frontman adam levine,

would have to say the rolling stones are probably king atm...sir paul mccartney still performs so have to have him there.

once they die that leaves....u2?

What do y mean aside from

If some1 were constructing a Mount Rushmore for rock and roll legends

It would be Adam Levine surrounded by four melting faces as they listen 2 him blowing fucking minds with mad verses from the legendary rock and roll band maroon five’s smash rock and roll hit moves like jagger

Mark Farner, of Grand Funk Railroad. One hell of a great person and talent. Best wow factor that I have seen between GFR, Led Zepplin, The Who, ELP.
(Janis Joplin and the Doors would have been contenders when they were alive.)

Rush is my favorite band, hands down.

To say Tom Sawyer is their best song, is sad. They have far more to offer than that.

Hate that I missed out on one of their last shows...
