Hak|Hakuryu 09-12-2001, 02:16 AM I was going to bring up that phone call Wulfen. It shuts down the theory that the PA crashed airplane was caused by its American pilots.
I'ts pretty simple to me. The terrorists stand up and announce themselves and that they have a bomb. Then they go to to the cockpit and take it over. One of the terrorists either flew the rest of the way, or told the pilot where to go until they were almost at their target.
Everyone on the plane assumes they want to be taken somewhere or they want a terrorist released from prison.

Didn't that guy on the phone say there was smoke and a loud boom too? Maybe the bomb went off prematurely ( if there was one ).

Never the less, pretty hard to stop that:/ There is hundreds of thousands of flying bombs over your country daily. The real question is, how many crazy F'people is there to crash them into yout structures? That is the question.
The US will attack Afganistan , and China will defend. WorldWar 3 will start.

Odds are this was a variant on the "CIA letter opener." PJ mentioned this earlier, in a sense, it's basically a single piece polymer knife, initially molded into shape and then sharpened. Using the right materials, it's quite feasible to fashion a blade capable of penetrating a 2x4 (I've seen demonstrations, if you doubt this). No alarm, no hand wand, just a nice courteous customer service smile...

You can buy PLASTIC or ALUMINUM box cutters. Then buy Single Edge Razor blades and put them into a double edge rasor blade case. Put them into the carry-on toiletries bag.
Noone will teake any notice of it.
once on the plane it would be easy to assemble the box knife.
There is really no way to prevent someone getting knives onboard any aircraft.

Just last weekend, I went to Detroit via LAX, and I walked through the security checkpoint with a serrated 4" stainless steel locking-back pocket knife.
The girl with the security wand looked at it for a second, and then handed it back to me with a shrug....
I didn't think much of it.... until yesterday morning.
