i'm just worried that the u.s government/military will make the wrong decisions.

Short of launching a Nuclear Attack, any military action the US takes would be justified.

My concern is NOT ENOUGH will be done.

The terrorists, and the nations that support terrorism must be sent a very clear message that this will never happen again.

Not just in the US, but in any part of the world.

Complete, and absolute, obliteration.

It is hard to politik a cause once you have been bombed into dust.

It's amazing how easily people are controlled by the media. All those years of watching episodes of the X-files has led to a paradigm of people crying "conspircay" whenever the reconstruction of an event cannot be completely pieced together. While our government may be incompetent in some respects, it is most certainly not going to withhold information that could potentially demeaning to the terrorists. I don't know what the aftermath of this event will involve, but if bin Laden was responsible, I'd pretict at least some level of military occupation in Afghanistan along with a manhunt for bin Laden himself. Racial tensions will most likely escalate to levels they have not reached since the presence of anti-Semitism in Nazi Germany. The world will be different from this day forward; the rest of the world now realizes that the United States is not invincible.

I don't think the world thought that the US was invincible since '41.

so what, the u.s is just gonna fucking destroy an enitre few countries, and in doing so, killing millions?

IF the terrorists turn out to be from a foreign nation, and that is a nation that supports terrorism as a means to an end. Then yes, that is exactly what I hope they do.

Any nation that cries foul, or allies with the target... wins the You're Next Lottery.

The pictures of people I saw dancing in the streets are every bit as guilty as those that highjacked the planes.

Those kids are the suicide bombers of tomorrow.

Wipe em off the planet.

Unfortunately, I'd agree with a low-level retaliatory nuclear strike; that is the only way to make the statement that we're not fucking around with people killing thousands of U.S. civillians unprovoked. A nuclear retaliation would make those Muslims realize the futility of jihad.

BTW, some of the dancing in the streets footage is allegedly stock footage (i.e., taken months or years ago for a different event).

Supposedly you can easily spot faked street dancing footage by looking for the sun: some people are claiming that the earth is actually spherical, and therefore any street dancing footage from the Middle East that appears to take place during the DAY is not related to today's events.

interesting point... but the crash happened around 9am... the middle east is 5 or 6 hours ahead.

That would make it, say, 3pm or so for the footage... which would still be daylight.

edit: corrected time difference

That is probably the thing that scares me the most right now. I don't think that nukes are the way to go... it opens up a global can of worms that I don't think we want to open. Then again, there would be no better statement made to world of how serious today's actions were. I'm scared about what the next 3 or 4 days will bring.

Now, the thing in all of this that I don't understand is why did the ppl on the plane not do anything? It was 98 ppl vs 4 terrorists with box knives. Yaknow those knives used to open crates and stuff with the retractable razor blade? Thats what the terrorists had. Now 98 ppl jumping a few terrorists with razor blades I think the the fucking passengers can retake the plane. What is the worst that can happen? Your being steered straight into a fucking building WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO LOSE? Your gonna die anyway. Atleast fight for it. Thats what I would have done after regaining my sense that I'm probably going to die.

Well, they didn't KNOW they were going to die. You know, they were probably hoping the US gets on the phone with them and negotiates a release or something. That's what they always tell you to do.

i agree skylander, although we don't know the whole truth yet. i doubt we will. i'm sure there was threat of gunplay, and that (for most) is enought to keep them in their seat.

people (in general) are cowards. it seems that only a person is brave.

Actually, it's 7 hours difference from EST to the western most point in the middle east.

Thanks.

we'd never hate you because your Arab bud. when you here people screaming to bomb the rag heads they truly mean the extremists that like to kill people, and those that laugh at what happened today. our country has racist roots that we try daily to shed. look at the current seat of power that Colin powell currently holds. you think we would let him be where he is if our country was racist?. your safe here and welcome here. anyone that says our borders should be closed to immigrants is a hypocrite. were a nation of immigrants:D

was in the other thread, someone brought up a good point. What if the terrorists just took a stewardess by knife point? Would u be responsible for someones death just to save others?

wtf is all this nuke talk?

You do realize that the use of nuclear weapons is next to impossible...

I'd bet my testicles that no nuclear bomb will ever go off in an act of war in your lifetime.

And if you're wrong, it'll go off shortly before the end of our lifetime.
