I live closer to NYC many people here. Why would nationality affect you?

I live in Ottawa, Canada's capital. I bet we were more scared than your home city.

Next, i have just as much human compassion as the next guy.

And lastly, I have family in NY, in fact, they have been panicing over losing family as well.

There is no perfect course of action here. I fear for the lives and lifestyle changes of my children most of all.

This act today was genocide. They are eradicating Americans. There must be retaliation and it must be swift and just.

What kind of monsters teach their children to laugh, cheer and dance about the murders of innocent men, women and children? And these children will grow up with this hate ingrained in them to become what?

These people used our commercial planes as missiles. Missiles loaded with innocent men, women and children, aimed at innocent men, women and children. Now they dance.

This is not Pearl Harbor, an attack on a military base by an enemy with the guts to show it's face. This is much more sinister.

The country I live in does not influence the impact of events like this.

I have friends in both NY and Washington.
I have family in the US Military.

I have spent all day frantically trying to contact people. Have been able to reach some, but have not been able to reach a lot of people.

There are no countries at this point.
There are terrorists, and there are the victims of terrorism.

Today, we are all the victims of terrorism... regardless of our respective mailing addresses.

Here are the facts as I see them. Whoever was responsible for this tragedy took control of 3(or 4) commercial airliners, turned hundreds of innocent civilians into a weapon of war. If it is war they want, let it be war they recieve.

I feel that when we find out who did this, and where they are, we give them (and anyone who harbors them) the same consideration they showed to the as yet unknown number of casualties they caused today. Someone will pay dearly for this, and I envy those who get to be a part of the balancing of the scales.

If Bin Lauden is behind this, he has yet to have an accounting for the USS Cole bombing last year. The blood on his hands shall forever stain anyone who harbors or assists him in his continued efforts to hurt the US.

There shall be a reckoning. And the guilty shall not survive.

eyewitnesses (hicks) already reported that they saw the plane go nose down into the field. they said the engines sounded/looked as if they were running fine. not flying with a gaping hole from a sidewinder.

Why I think it was shot down:

1.)I have a video tape of a reporter saying that witnesses reported hearing explosions before the plane crashed.
2.)A plane crashes fast. How many of them really got a good look, and are not saying so just to get on TV.
3.)Witnesses also said the plane came very low, very fast, and then tried to climb steeply. The whole area is heavily wooded, and even outside you wouldnt see the plane for more than a few seconds. Line of sight.
4.)Where is the wreckage? Witnesses said they didnt see any pieces larger than 1/2 size of a notebook. Have you ever seen a plane completely disintegrate into pieces that small? I bet it was instantly carted away by Army Engineers.

It wasn't shot down. Chances are that the pilot realized what was happening and drove his plane into the ground before the terrorists could gain control of it.

If they shot it down, they should come out and say it :p.

I think everyone would understand and be grateful that a worse disaster didn't occur.

From the pilot's point of view, he has two options (assuming he has heard something over his communications system pertaining to the attacks):

1) Kill everyone now and leave some gov't building somewhere intact.

2) Let the terrorists gain control of the plane and kill everyone in the process of destroying some important governmental building.

I would be *really* surprised if the plane was shot down and the government didn't admit it.

Actually, according to the timelines, the pilot may have.
That crash was after the WTC crashes.
May have been communicated to him via air traffic control.

If the US did shoot it down, as a message to the terrorists, I would think they would make that statement, to show how quickly they were able to react.
