T-Refried-455 09-11-2001, 07:47 PM Bush just gave one of the most worthless speeches I've ever heard in my life.

do you even have a clue what your talking about? All the experts on CNN acted like he said everything he needed too.
Spiderman 09-11-2001, 07:54 PM The speach made me feel better about the situation
T-Refried-455 09-11-2001, 07:56 PM oh, shit, I don't agree with the 'experts' on CNN.
dude, that speech contained no new information, said nothing that hadn't already been said, and repeated the same message constantly in differents words: 'terrorist bad. not like terrorist. kill terrorist.'
sorry, but I don't find rhetorical bullshit very useful.

I'm inclined to agree. That whole "beacon of light" thing confounds me, though. We're not that naive, are we?

My apologies, bad timing for me to get into a political commentary. After carpet bombing innocent civilians in Berlin, our nuclear bombs on Japan, the Vietnam War, the Korean War, Desert Storm, bombing a pharmaceutical plant which we thought was 'terrorist headquarters', and the whole Kosovo situation, I merely meant it doesn't surprise me that we are facing the consequences of a history of 'global policing'. Not to mention our global corporate takeover of foreign industry and third world cultures.
All that said, I do sympathize greatly with the families and I'm sorry that someone here has personal involvement.
I apologize for offending anyone.
Sorry =(
Quiet.
Too bad your stupid and ignorant ass or thoose of your family were not in the world trade center, the gene pool needs to be rid of people like you. You take your apoligies and shove them up your ass, the U.S. military spend billions of dollars in training and equipment to ensure that enemy civilians are not hurt by our actions, WE DO NOT DELIBERATLY GO AFTER CIVILIANS! Thank god we have heros that died to give you the right to be a stupid piece of shit in this nation, and yes I did serve to give you that right. Too bad you didnt loose a loved one in the attack because you would whistle a different tune wouldnt you?
Fuck you and the whore that gave you birth.
T-Refried-455 09-11-2001, 08:03 PM he just apologized, shitforbrains.
you don't fucking keep flaming someone for what they said after they apologize for it.

His speech was meant to hearten the average american. He also said something VERY important. He said the United States military is ready and strong. He also said the we will find those responsible and we will not distinguish between the terroroists or the countries harboring them. That means if Afghanistan chooses to continue harboring Bin Laden we will consider Afghanistan as guilty as him. Accusing a country of an unprovoked attack generally results in war. thats kind of important.
half the sky 09-11-2001, 08:07 PM Basically Bush said the terrorists are bad, their efforts were in vain. We will hunt them and the people who helped them down. USA is strong and this act of terrorism will not make us waver.
Is he supposed to give you a detailed plan of how he intends to do this?
He wants business as usual tomorrow to comfort the citizens of the US and to irritate the terrorists.
I would rather not have our military's plans announced on CNN. Just my personal preference.

You failed to recognize the significance of the speech. I was trying to help you. Thank you for your scathing sarcasm.
T-Refried-455 09-11-2001, 08:14 PM all I got out of that speech is that America at-large (hell, the entire world) is becoming incredibly simple-minded if they needed to hear that.

Move to the middle east. You won't have to hear that ever again.

Please give a link to this, because NOWHERE are they saying who did this.
Is it likely it was him? yes, but nothing is for sure... Ever think of another domestic McVey?
this makes me sad.
Hate and revenge is not the answer.
I didn't say he claimed it, he's not an idiot. He knows he overstepped himself this time. I said that he DID give a warning about 3 weeks back, to an English Muslim newspaper or somesuch.
And I didn't see McVeigh stay in the bomb he set and commit suicide. Militant Arabs are a completely different breed.
And FS, I'm not 'judging' a whole other race. I saw a horde of Palestines parading about our darkest day. Not Germans. Not Chinese. Not Japanese. Maybe you don't mind that?
Will I give any of them I see a second look? You bet your ass. Maybe you should take a 3-month trip to Saudi Arabia, and visit our old base of operations there.
Refried. Pay attention next time. He said there was no distinguishing between terrorists and those that harbor them. You two-bit lackey. If you can't get anything out of that, then I suppose there IS no hope for you.
SonGohan 09-11-2001, 08:24 PM I got all emotional when I read that quote in your sig Half The Sky. Very moving.
