Plane crashes into World trade Center

They are saying aprox. 150 dead at the pentagon crash...God this is horrible. They haven't even begun to speak of the WTC....:cry:

Speaking for Logan Int'l, this isn't entirely true.
I'm not at liberty to reveal all the gory details of air security protocol, but the part(s) that failed here are pretty much public domain knowledge.
The first and most glaring failure was the preboard screening point. You know the ones, the group of people at the entrance to the boarding area ("sterile area" in protocol-speak), with the x-rays, bad attitudes, and handwands. While they are often subject to ridicule and public jest, they are a pivotal element to securing each and every flight from their terminal. While it remains unknown how the flights were taken, it seems obvious that some sort of weapon was involved. Said weapon(s) would HAVE to be carried on to the aircraft, as there is no way to access checked luggage once airborne. And said weapon(s) SHOULD HAVE BEEN STOPPED before the perpetrators even entered the sterile area. It's as simple as that. The checkpoint failed completely.
Second line of defense, in this situation, was the boarding crew. The gate agents, ground crew, and to a certain degree the flight attendants. Before that plane is allowed to leave the gate, it has to be verbally confirmed that everything is copacetic, and there is no perceived threat to the aircraft. It is, however, unlikely that the individuals had made any attempts or actions to betray themselves at this time.
Third and final line of defense is the flight crew, the pilots and in-flight service crew (flight attendants). There is certain radio protocol that is used to indicate ANY hostile activity or threat to aircraft security. There should have been SOME indication to control that something was wrong. To my knowledge, there was none. If that is true, it lends credence to my belief that the takeover was swift, violent, and complete. I believe the flight crew was put down long before the incident came to it's end. How this was accomplished, we may never know. But it's damned terrifying, that it happened at all. Let alone FOUR FUCKING TIMES in a DAY, TWICE at MY airport, at TWO different terminal checkpoints. I want to feel sorry for the checkpoints, but I'm not. I'm really actually very angry, at this point. Such is life. I just hope we can stop it if and when it happens again.

Yep. They're being really incognito about it here in Boston, but we've had the National Guard creeping around the ramp/runway areas for a few hours now. Hummers, assault rifles, the whole nine yards. They don't scare me nearly as much as the feds though.

Bin Laden has taken responsibility for acts against the US and encourages others to violence against the US. We should show Russia how it's done and take Afghanistan over. OMG this lady called her husband twice before the Hijacked plane she was on collided into the TWC. May all the familys find a way to get through this day of disbelief and tragic terrorist attack.

Wondering if Adrenaline is ok.

Question to anyone who knows...

Can anyone outside the cockpit get on the radio and inform ground?

I ask because if the answer is yes, that would imply more than one terrorist per plane, as a single man should not be able to kill both the body crew, and the cockpit crew at the same time.

There has been a report that a woman on the plane that hit the Pentagon called out on her cell phone to alert people her plain was hijacked. She said they were carrying knife like objects.

You can greate a very hard and durable polimer based knife that cannot be detected by metal detectors and could only be found with a complete pat down.


You never have needed a gun to take over a commercial jet. You just need enough people with sinple knives. Looks like that is what they did on those planes.
