Reading back through this whole thread, this quote struck me as memorable:

Man I can't even look at the TV, and only seeing 1 fuckin' tower... this is a SAD day in US History I was praying I would never see something like this...

Little did we know how the tragedy wasn't over yet. Things just kept getting worse and worse. Another plane crash, the other tower collapses...every time we thought it was finished, another hundred or even thousand people died in an instant. Jesus...

No it's an ABC only video.

Not going to go through 60 pages of this, but did you see the video on TV of the arabs and muslims dancing in the streets?

Well put half(edit: not your last post, but the one thanking Canada)...thank you Canada

I would also like to say, I agree with FireStorm on the majority of his views, we should never judge an entire race by an act of one of their kind. With that said, we are not even sure it was one of their kind. This IS America, people are innocent until PROVEN guilty, until we have solid proof that it was Bin Ladin don't ass-u-me anything. As for the children on the TV, that is truly sad, but you have to realize the children have been brainwashed to believe that the United States is bad, and that a lot of them are not old enough to really think for themselves, and for those that are, let god deal with them. Also notice that the only video we have of the palestinians celebrating is that one 30 second long one conveying one neighborhood. Lets not judge a country and race of millions by a 30 second video showing maybe .0001% of them celebrating.

In leaving, I must say this, my prayers go out to all those who have lost loved ones in this tragic event.

I fear that it isnt over.

Thousands of flights every day, millions of passengers... it only takes one to cause a repeat of today.

Whoever is responsible can not be punished enough for the pain they cause to people who were just going about their every day jobs. Not military, not a threat of any kind to anybody... just joe citizen.

It's not over. Once we divert all our resources to NYC and DC, they'll do something somewhere else...

I thought the bomb threat called in on an area hospital overflowing with victims from this catastrophe, forcing evacuation and delaying medical attention to those victims was a very cruel twist.

Wow. What a sad, terrible day. And I get the feeling that this is only the beginning. The move was too calculated to be the only one. :(

The scariest part is they have no idea what part of air security failed and there is no one to point a finger at. Who is there to retaliate? Maybe the Taliban because of harboring terrorists but it could just have been 5 people in a basement that are pissed off.

Agreed. As I mentioned earlier, I've seen a myriad of Security Directives issued to us by the FAA over the last 4 months. I was reading back over them a few minutes ago, and it's almost creepy how prescient they feel now, in hindsight.
There's a common saying in the airline industry that the FAA writes its rulebooks in blood, and it's proving itself true all over again. We just finished another conference call with the FAA director of Logan, and I spoke with other FAA officials about an hour ago, and they are headhunting like madmen right now. Expect radical changes in protocol for civil aviation, very, very soon. As long as the category x airports are on cat.4 status (logan, lax, dulles, etc...all the big hubs and int'l gateways...those are category x...) they are going to be ruthless with security. It's going to make my job infinitely more exhausting, but that's the price we pay around here. This simply cannot be tolerated, and speaking for myself, I have no intentions of letting this happen to one of my planes.
