PJ is both right and wrong. The Palestinians and Israelis have been witnessing and executing suicide bombings on innocent people day in and day out for the past few years. They must live in fear every day.

Saying they dont know what it is like is completely wrong and almost disrespectful to the hardships they have.

On the other hand, the Trade Center towers can hold 50,000 at peak times. The 2 jets can each hold 200 passengers and word had it that they both had a full load.

Then you have to add in further casualties from surrounding citizens inhaling to much smoke, people hit by debris and the rescue squads trapped when the 2 buildings collapsed. And that still isnt including the Pentagon.

Never has the US experienced a massacre on such a grand scale in one day due to terrorist actions, and the fact it occured in America itself, makes it so much harder to cope with.

Couple things I noticed:

Im a pilot, and I know that the pilots in those passenger planes have "cockpit locks" that can keep anybody out of the cockpit. I figure that a brutal death of a crew member or passanger happend at the front of the plane, with threats of more to come, caused the pilots to open the doors.

Since the planes that departed Boston were enroute to LA, they had to be flown by the PILOTS themselves to New York. How they got the pilots to do that is unthinkable.

Once they got over the city, the Pilots were brutally murdered and the hijackers took the controls. Guaranteed those planes were flown into those buildings by the terrorists. Any concious, or alive pilot would never fly into those buildings.

Of hand, I would say a 757 could hold something near 40,000 lbs of Jet A. Not sure about the 767, but they are larger and older aircraft, with less fuel-efficient engines, so I'm sure it was more. If you look at the second crash a lot of fuel fireballed outside of the plane. At the speed they impacted the rest of the fuel would be forced into the interior of the building.

The heat of burning aviation fuel is enough to cause structural concrete to powder. Once the concrete powders you lose one component supporting the building. Next the heat will start to weaken the steal girders that are exposed.

The impacts look as though they moved around HALF of the structural support. It was worse on tower 2.

When the strain became too much tower 2's top collapsed.

Tower 2's collapsing would also cause tower 1 to vibrate like an earthquake. Even though there would be less weight on the structure above the impact the vibrations induced by tower 2's collaps would be enough to cause the top of tower 1 to collapse. That is why you saw it come down shortly afterwards.

Aviation Fuel is very nasty and in aircraft crashes will melt the metal of the plane like butter.

it didnt hit me til about an hour ago what was acctually happened, even though i have been watching since 15 - 20 min after it started. it the back of my mind it was like a movie, or something that is happening in a country on the other side of the earth with a name nobody can pronounce. but when it hit me... it hit hard. its in the usa, our country, this massive terrorist attack, in our backyard, in some ppls home town, the next town over, or a few blocks away. i just stared at the tv, semi confused, semi sad, semi angry. when i watched the 2nd plane hit the tower, it made me sick, how could ppl do that? why would they want to? what have we done?

it hit me even harded when i heard the whole army side of the pentagon was gone, it shook the entire building, the plane went completely through the side and almost into the courtyard, killed anything in its way. i am still being hit hard with every knew story, more confused, more mad, more depressed. i would give anything to take the place of just 1 person on any of those flights just to save them, to keep them with their family, anything.

also when china was invaded by japan flunky and they masacred.

Incorrect, sirrah. Flight manifests indicate that neither of the AA flights were even half capacity, and almost all 4 flights were roughly 1/4 capacity. I've seen figures released in the news, but they're not completely accurate, judging from what we've been given here at the airport. Close enough, though. Point still stands that it didn't need to happen, though.

as for trying to figure out who is responsible, couldn't they get lists of the people onboard the hijacked planes, figure out which ones were the likely terrorists, and link them to a specific terrorist group?

I know they may not have given real identities, but come on, I think there'd be something weird if an arab named JimBob got on the plane..

of course they flew the plane, if you were the polit and you were told to fly into an office building, would you do it, or would you crash into the ocean so only the ppl on the plane would die

there's no doubt this was a monstrous attack, but blaming a whole peoples is the dumbest way to look about it.
