I'm just as sick as you, but this raises a serious issue for me. I have a very good friend who is Palestinian, and who is named "Jihad" (he was named when the name still meant "perseverance for God" not "Holy War"). I shudder to think what may happen to him, even if he is just walking down the street. I know that most of us are level-headed enough to not attack someone because they look like the bastards who we think may have done this, but I'm definitely scared that he may get hurt by someone who isn't thinking straight. Please pray for him, and the thousands of good Americans who may be persecuted for the sins of their homeland.

They shut down the base except for "non-essential personnell". There are guards at all gates now with M-16's and K-9's. There's also a "suspicious package" at the West Gate that they are investigating as a possible bomb (unlikely).

The flight time and destination make perfect sense, the more I think about it. It's either Bush or a decoy Air Force 1 jet. More than likely the former. Several reliable friends tell me they saw the plane coming in, which is easy to do from most locations around the base.

If you were living in their environment, it sounds like you are someone who might be inclined to celebrate too. It sounds to me like if we bombed their town right now, you'd be saying "yeah, serves those fuckers right".

Now imagine instead of just seeing some (admittedly horrible) pictures on TV you've watched your best friend get shot by Israelis Imagine that all your friends and family have been living in miserable conditions for decades after being uprooted by another group of people. Everyone you know knows someone who has been killed by an Israeli. And Israel is backed by the US. And the US is untouchable. And someone touches them. If they are happy about it, are they so different from you?

I'm not saying it's something they should be happy about, of course it's not. I'm not saying the Palestinians are oppressed and blameless or any of that. I'm just saying there are many tragedies in the world already. Let's not go rushing to make more of them.
