Register a PC. Enter any information you want. I named mine "Other" and put the Model Number of my processor (3570k) :lol:. It'll show you your Registration ID (you'll get an email with the ID as well).

Then go to:

Windows Upgrade Offer - My Order (https://www.windowsupgradeoffer.c om/en-US/MyOrder)

Put in your ID, it'll take you to the next page where your Promo Code is listed (it'll email you your code as well). Copy that, download the Windows Update Assistant from that page, and get Windows 8 for $15.

It's available for download right now if you use this method BTW.

totally worked for me. I put BestBuy as the retailer (with no space) HP as the type and 3770k as the pc model
and Wednesday, September 19, 2012 as the purchase date

worked for me after I put in the correct date period
then said it's not available in my country

MS is realizing that the system OS is the conduit for app sales and the more people who install it mean more app revenue. Cell phone model.

they also have adds in the apps.. like movies or weather or music or news etc.
