A mouse and MS Paint, yeah. The zoom function helps.

For some reason, I can draw in this style much better in MS Paint than in Paint Shop Pro.

I think the humor comes from the reinterpretation of the spam subject lines. The drawings aren't necessarily funny apart from the subject lines/titles.

I mainly think it's funny to take an (in some cases) obscene or adult spam subject and make it more innocent without changing the text.

Clever.

I make a point of not changing a single thing about the spam subject line (spelling, punctuation, etc.). I don't think they would be as funny if I had to change the text to shoehorn it into the meaning I needed for the drawing. In most cases, what's in the drawings is the first thing that pops into my head when I read the subject line.
