DacTheHork 10-22-2009, 07:42 PM Mine would be a sourdough loaf (1.99), pepperjack cheese (1.00 for about 6 thick slices (2.99lb), and about 1/3 of an avocado(50 cents each) butter
slice up the loaf, cover both sides of slices in generous butter, hot pan... toast and press it into the pan.. flip.. add cheese to one of them.. press both down.. put the 1/3 avocoda on top of cheese when its almost done.. then put the bread together to make a sandwich, press down on each side for 10 seconds .. then serve
grilled cheese with avocado
fucking tastes amazing, costs nothing, and is easy to make
also add mustard if you like that to give it more flavor

Vermouth 10-23-2009, 03:57 AM simple:
good bread, good cheese, good olive oil (salt and pepper - maybe a tomato)
example:
a nice crusty multigrain, an aged gruyere, a tart extra virgin olive oil (mainly for the bread - if it's a milder, heavier cheese, like a feta, olive oil on top of everything).
i could eat this meal, with a nice glass of wine, 3-4 nights a week for the rest of my life.
Sir Lucius 10-23-2009, 05:05 AM Chili, it's chili season. Here's my recipe:
Chop up some onions, toss in a pan, chop up a pepper (I used 3 serranos) throw it in the pan, heat it up with a little bit of slat. When the peppers start to turn brown I zest some lime in it, and the squeeze the juice into the pan. Then I throw that in a crockpot.
Next I take two pounds of ground beef, use the same pan (less dishes) and added salt and paprika. Cooked it up, tossed it in the crockpot.
Added chopped garlic, ~2 cans of tomato sauce, and beef broth for some liquid. Then I added tortilla chips to thicken it up.
It's chili season. And chili is probably the simplest thing you can make next to toast.
