I'm moving to a new area and a bigger place with enough room. I want something for the house for resistance training and i cant decide if i want something like a bowflex or just a simple freeweight set. I've also thought of kettlebells.
Does anyone actually have a bowflex to say if they are as sturdy as they claim to be?
Bowflexes suck. I have one. They don't feel right. a 50lb power rod isn't 50lbs until it's flexed all the way.
Stick with free weights. My bowflex also had like 5 safety kid attachments 3 or 4 years after I bought it.
Gym membership is much better.

Squat rack and a bench should really be all that you need. If my garage wasn't full of shit, I'd buy them and be set.

look on craigslist, there's always people selling free weights for cheap
On a side note - if you live on Long Island and have a truck - I will help you carry my bowflex down into your truck and you can have it for free.

Look at a chin-up bar, stability ball and skipping rope as well. A medicine ball has uses too. If I had those things and a bench/power rack/Olympic bar I'd never have to leave my house. Which would suck, cause I'd never leave my house.

I think kettle bells depend a lot more on having someone to show you how to use them.

you'll need a chinup bar too.
