CERVICAL-KREMS

I started p90x again after a long time off from working out. My cardio is decent from playing hockey 2-3 times a week, but my strength is now concentrated in my core and legs with little regard for my arms. Anyway, I finished the first video of p90x around 8:30 tonight.
It's now 2:45 am and I have pretty much no prayer of sleeping. I managed to fall asleep for about 10 minutes, but now I'm wide awake.
How long does it take to get back into a cycle of working out and then being able to sleep? I feel like I smoked $500 of crystal meth :(

i used to have this same problem
which is why i stopped working out at 9 or 10 at night
doing that and trying to get up at 5:30 AM was a recipe for disaster

I go to sleep at 9 or 10, and wake up at 5 to get my work out in. Working out at night messes up my schedule and I can't guarantee I will get a workout in before 7 or 8.

I basically have to work out at like 7:15pm every night. I wake up at 5:30am.
I've had nights like you're talking about but not regularly. Usually I'll stay up until like 10 or so, sometimes later. It still takes me around 20-30 minutes to fall asleep though. I cheat sometimes and have a glass of wine or a beer (well after my workout's done of course) which helps :P

I had that problem when I first started working out. It got better with time as my body got accustomed to working out and would calm down faster after I finished. I still always gave myself at least two hours between the end of my workout and when I needed to fall asleep though.

Same way. I have the opposite problem as the op. I usually have to workout at 6 am and about a half hour after I feel dead tired and struggle to stay awake for the next couple hours heh.
