FDA muscles up on Bodybuilding.com, Web site suspected of selling steroids (http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/more_sports/2009/09/24/2009-09-24_fda_raids_bodybuilding com.html)

The affidavit claims that the Web site has been illegally selling five anabolic steroids with the names “Madol,” “Tren,” “Superdrol,” “Androstenedione,” and “Turinabol,” despite five “warning letters” from the FDA since 2002 informing the company that it was in violation of the law.

I have been wondering how much longer these things are going to be on the market.
Next week, the Senate Judiciary Committee's Subcommittee on Crime and Drugs has scheduled hearings on the barriers preventing the enforcement of steroid control in the bodybuilding industry.

when they say Tren in this context its not real Trenbolone, but products that are chemically similar.

Roids are so lame. Get big properly and do it for longevity.

Good post Rayn, I always wondered how many of those bodybuilding sites harbored illegal steroids...

Some people like to exceed the limits that you can obtain naturally, I don't see what is wrong with that if its for personal reasons

for most people roids are unnecessary and not worth any health risks, even if minor. That being said, if someone wants to use them for whatever reason, it's stupid that they can't choose to use them if they so desire without facing legal ramifications.

Well, I don't want to use them. That leaves me at a disadvantage in a competition with someone who is. I wouldn't say "let them use for whatever reason", but I would agree with letting sporting bodies self-regulate.

well, talking about competitive environments is totally different. Steroids are ubiquitous in all manners of sporting events, even at the amateur level, and it's extremely difficult to test in a way to catch a majority of the athletes. The fact that it's relatively unenforceable tells me that they should let athletes use them. If people don't want to use them, that's unfortunately their choice if they choose to compete anyways.

our ancestors didn't rely on roids. they did what they could with the body they were given. natural barriers are harder to break through, but i get steroid-comparable results with hard-ass training, eating well all the time and plenty of rest and recovery.

if you need assistance in doing something that's seemingly too hard because of a mental incapacity for working hard, i see a lot wrong with that...

90% of everyone you know who is big
who you see at the gym
they are doing some kind of roids.

you can't become as strong as possible without using steroids. That's a fact. On top of that, using steroids allows you to work even harder. Guys that are serious about training and use steroids often work harder than guys who don't use them simply because they can. It's not always a shortcut for people.
