Been away from Tribalwar for quite some time now but its nice to come back and see a section devoted to fitness....for those of you that know me from T1 days im still around and still lifting....I have tailored my workouts more for cutting up than strength although i still push over 400 on the bench...I do think when it comes to bench I have learned some secrets a lot of people dont know :)

I could watch that 500 lift over and over again. I'm about to head to the gym for my chest day...... where I will be doing a whooping 135 as warm-up.

But really, that 500 is fucking awesome.

:lol: Rage, you gigantic mother fucker. My bench sucked for the first 2 years I lifted or so. In the past 3 months it's shot up, and I don't really understand it. It's nice to be able to rep a somewhat respectable weight now, though :)

I haven't maxed out in a while. Last week I did 5x5 at @185lbs, which I'm psyched about. I have a bird chest. I have no problem shrugging with 100lb dumbbells, but my bench sucks given my size.

would it help if you did dumbbell bp? i guess that wouldnt help you with more weight right away but maybe it would get you more well rounded? i dont know

Long time bro...after your last bench set...try doing a set of reps with weight about mid way to your max...bring the weight down to about two inches above your chest and hold for 2 secs..then push back up..it will strengthen your "weak" area and allow you to gain a nice bit on your max since thats a "sticking" point for most people..some on the internet vids use a 2x4 works the same way...

405 maybe :) but does 500lbs really "bounce" off anything from what....a foot and a half to feet and i brought the 500 down way to slow compared to a normal max...I wont lie, i was very intimated by it when i first took it off the bar.

i do dumbbell bench press because it works the stabilizer muscles more effectively

you'll move more weight if you're doing a barbell workout though

ideally i think you'll want to incoporate both to avoid plateauing
