Pretty much entirely pugged, minus one naxx10 run with a singaporean (singaporeinese?) guild. Next for me is 1k for dual spec so I can get rid of my fun yet not too functional hybrid leveling/pve/pvp spec to pump more deeps, and then the retardedly high 1200g for 2x zerker. Should I aim for a faster dagger? 1 pt in cqc?
I'm also 5 badges from my ugly helm and 2 piece bonus which is nice. Currently I am pumping 3k-3500 in 5 mans depending on composition and about 3900-4500 10 man depending on fight and comp (did a 3982 on patch this morning 10m)
Tell me I'm getting close to uld/toc10. Gorgonnash is like asian paradise. At 8am EST there are 3-4 10mans looking for dps. I sneak in the ole "ni hao! -_-;; 3k deeps" and I'm in.
Minion^ 09-12-2009, 02:06 AM your getting close. whats holding you back is your weapons.
Animal 09-12-2009, 06:25 AM Battlestar is fine(for now), spinal destroyer not so fine
Do naxx 25 for sinister revenge/CALAMITY'S GRASP (KT loot, GL).. Twlight Mist, Webbed Death, and Murder also drop from Naxx 25 and are better than your current dagger.
also Uld 25 Flame Leviathan for Kinetic Ripper/Pyrite Infuser/Mechanist's Bindings.. it's easy as hell and you don't need to be geared to do it.
Just advertise for 25man Flame Leviathan runs at the end of the week for people who aren't already saved to Ulduar. If your group is sick and they want to continue, bang you're in.
Also, before attempting Ulduar 25, READ UP ON THE FIGHTS. Can't stress this enough. Knowledge is powa.
Fury of the five flights is also a sick trinket
Check out my armory, did my first real Uld 25 run tonight (besides the occasional 25m FL run) and I'm not really UBER GEAREd either.. you just need to run with other geared/knowledgeable people who have GOOD ATTITUDES. Attitude is everything. People do what they're supposed to in raids when they think positively. And lol we both have shitty rings

Just keep trying man gear will come.
Also keep doing dailies for those triumph badges + H HoL for triumph.. and when you can, hit up those 25man VoAs after Wintergrasp.
Rurouni 09-12-2009, 09:09 AM Singaporean is right =p
and we'd probably be like 'haha stupid ang moh' if you ni hao-ed us =P
Feannag 09-12-2009, 09:45 AM I bow to you guys with DPS-only classes trying to gear up without the aid of a guild or group of friends. I have a hunter and rogue at 80 and it takes way too long finding any pugs outside of heroics, and even then heroics will take a couple of hours. You can only do dailies for so long "waiting" for a group before I give up. So much so they end up collecting dust now in favor of my priest, paladin, and druid.
AdreNaLiNe 09-12-2009, 01:16 PM Usually, when I advertise as 7k dps rogue or 6k dps warrior, I am in.
Never have an issue with VoA.

I see those in LFG when I look for DPS classes, but I don't pay attention to them that much. I had someone advertising as a 4K DPS DK and when we go down to it he was barely pulling 2100. That happened more than a few times to the point where I watch recount on the trash pulls to the first boss to get an assessment of how long this will take.
Don't get me wrong, really good DPS makes a huge difference when it comes to pugs but more often than not whatever they advertise doesn't add up to the actual numbers.
RedSpider 09-12-2009, 05:17 PM Just run VoA on Tuesday with all the hardcore kids, it really minimizes the bad players that end up in your raid.
I'd also try to get some expertise gear if you can, it will give you a much more stable DPS cycle.

His expertise is more than enough.
-Get a faster offhand
-Don't gem hit
-Get a helmet with a meta (run H ToC for that Mask, pretty good).
After that you should be STYLIN

That damn rape mask will not drop for the life of me :( It was my plan to get that like a month ago, enough so that I said "meh get the 8.5 chest first, that helm should be dropping any day"... Welp, 3 badges until I am back up to 58 again, still no helm.. So I will buy the 8.5 one and curse toc.
I'm working on a faster OH, no luck yet! Otherwise things are looking good?
FalseMyrmidon 09-12-2009, 09:08 PM I'm of the opinion only retards advertise a DPS number because good DPS know that DPS is incredibly variable based on a number of factors.

Outside of the spec which you covered, yeah.
It's kind of impossible to judge just based on an armory and not seeing any playing skills.

Depending on the instance/boss, I pretty much know where my dps stands.
It's more or less a tactic to get into a pug.
You don't?
Joemomma5000 09-13-2009, 11:33 PM Simply giving a realistic dps for the instance based on your class puts you ahead of half of the scrubs out there. I'll sometimes link achievements for things like the new fire boss in voa which also helps.

I don't usually PUG. The few times I've been asked that I tell them to armory me.

I get asked for stats, not DPS numbers, half the time I assume the person knows nothing about my class so I link achievements and say something like "i know how to play". Or if its some BG pug asking for XXX resil I just link glad ach.
I've gotten literally zero shit about getting into pugs or VoAs now that I've rerolled as a resto druid though, people are eager to grab healers.

People don't usually take the time out to Armory people in LFG or Trade chat when looking for a VoA.
In fact, I usually state what I believe to my dps on those fights, live up to it, and get invites for PuGs for that last piece a lot that we don't do anymore.
The only bad thing about it is when people keep inviting you or asking if you're down for every single thing they run afterwards.

They don't ask for my dps. It usually goes like:
LFM DPS for VoA 25
My reply: 6k dps rogue lfg for voa25.
So and So has invited you to a group. It's not like I'm lying to them about it, but it's a FAST way to get an invite was my point. People see omg 6k, invite him! Can you really blame them? PuG VoAs have rogues pulling 1500 dps (no joke).

I've been asked for my stats before and I answer. We usually do VoA as a guild after the raid ends. I haven't pugged it since they put Emalon in there.
