benji 09-08-2009, 09:49 PM I'm currently 160lbs and taking ~24g whey/day and recently read an article on a good way to cycle creatine for 'guaranteed' results.
The deal is you take 0.3*bodyweight of creatine per day for three days (splitting it up 3-4 times a day if possible), and then take no creatine for 3 days, rinse & repeat.
What do ya'll think?
Dirty Sanchez 09-08-2009, 11:02 PM when i took it i did the loading process, where you take something like 20g a day for 2 weeks then 5 g every day. Meh.
Bomba 09-09-2009, 12:26 AM 5g with my dextrose PWO x 6 years, never cycled off
_Hurley 09-09-2009, 02:35 AM you only need to "load" creatine if it creatine "monohydrate".
and even then, the loading phase is largely optional.
Creatine does NOt need to be cycled.
don;t believe the bullshit marketing you read... creatine is a simple supplement.
3-5g daily day in day out will do you just fine.
Falhawk 09-09-2009, 09:23 AM my doc told me to stop taking creatine
just curious
did he say what his reasoning is

blood pressure
my bp hadn't been great prior, like 135ish so I have to get a physical every year. I had lost weight, eating better, and am getting into decent shape so we had expected a big drop but it was like 132. She asked what supplements I was taking and when I mentioned creatine she whipped out her iphone and confirmed what she thought, that it raised BP. I checked it out afterwards and there's actually quite out there about it.

I don't take it anymore but was just curious. I'm not sure what mechanism of its action would affect BP. I guess like that page says, it will be easy enough to see if its the cause. If your BP drops in a few weeks, then I guess there you go.

from what i read some of the sites say that the excess water the in muscles makes it tougher for blood to flow
or something like that
are you saying my guns are hazardous to my health
Falhawk 09-09-2009, 12:32 PM guns don't kill people
or something
maybe they do now I don't know
Glare 09-09-2009, 02:04 PM i have never taken creatine
i wonder if it would be effective for cardio since it's supposed to keep muscles hydrated
Falhawk 09-09-2009, 02:39 PM honestly I haven't missed it at all and I was using it after both cardio and strength workouts
rtcll 09-09-2009, 10:04 PM I don't really like creatine. I never had any results from it and I'd feel nauseous after a really hard workout. Might have been the creatine but idk.
CloroX 09-12-2009, 04:53 PM Pretty sure creatine has no effect for cardio Glare, just strength training.
Gimp Lynch 09-14-2009, 09:44 PM I take 10g a day on workout days only and mixed with my post-workout shake. Nothing more and nothing less.
Defaced 09-15-2009, 06:01 AM Carrying the extra weight from the creatine would make running harder, not easier.
